Can I try the WhatsApp API for free with a test number before I go live?

Yes. When you start with Meta's Cloud API, a test WhatsApp account and a test business phone number are created for you. You can try template messages without a payment method.

• The test account, test messaging account and test number are created automatically when you get started.
• Test accounts have relaxed messaging limits, so you can try your order messages safely.
• They do not need a payment method on file to send template messages.
• When you are happy, connect your real restaurant number. A number already on the WhatsApp app needs extra steps first.
