Porter and Rapido integration: riders booked for your delivery orders
Updated October 20, 2026
Menuthere connects to your own Porter and Rapido accounts and books a rider for each delivery order, either automatically when you accept it or when you tap Book rider. Providers are tried one at a time in the order you set. You choose whether the customer pays the rider's live quote or your own delivery price, and whether trips come out of your wallet or are paid in cash. Porter and Rapido work only for stores in India. The integration is an add-on that Menuthere support switches on when you ask.
In short
- Your accounts, no code. You connect each Porter or Rapido account with its mobile number and an OTP. There's no API work on your side.
- Booked at the moment you choose: when the order is Accepted or Food ready, with an optional delay, or by hand with Book rider.
- One provider after another. If no rider takes the trip in the time you set, the next provider in your list is tried.
- You set who pays: the customer pays the live rider quote, or your own delivery price, or pays the rider at the door.
- Mix with your own riders. Send near orders to your own riders and far ones to Porter or Rapido with distance bands.
What Porter and Rapido are
Porter describes itself as a logistics company offering two-wheelers, three-wheelers and trucks in 22 Indian cities, with an API for two-wheeler deliveries (porter.in, checked 20 Oct 2026). Rapido runs a bike-taxi, auto and cab app. For restaurants, both mean a rider who comes to your door, collects the order and takes it to the customer. Menuthere books them for you from the order, so you don't need either company's API.
What the integration does
| Setting or button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Accounts | Connect Porter and Rapido accounts by mobile number and OTP. Give several accounts the same Group number so a free rider is used. |
| Vehicle | Bike, Parcel or Scooty. |
| Pay for Porter trips (and Rapido) | Wallet or Cash. With Wallet, if the balance is short, the rider collects the rest in cash at pickup. |
| Book a rider automatically | Books when the order is Accepted or Food ready, with an optional After delay in minutes. Off means you press Book rider on each order. |
| Search each provider for | Seconds to wait for a rider before the next provider is tried. |
| Provider order | Providers are tried one at a time in this order. At least one must stay. |
| Book rider, Track rider, Cancel rider | On each order: book by hand, follow the trip, or stand the rider down. |
| Wallet & history | Your Porter wallet balance, recharges and trip history, and your Rapido trips. |
The rider's pickup address is your store's Landmark and Street address from Store details, joined into one line. Fill both in: without them, the rider sees only your store name.
How to set up Porter and Rapido in Menuthere
- Connect your accounts. Open Settings, Ordering, Porter & Rapido and press Accounts. For each provider press Connect, enter the account's mobile number, press Send OTP, then enter the OTP and press Verify.
- Choose the vehicle and how trips are paid. Pick Bike, Parcel or Scooty. For each provider, set trips to Wallet or Cash.
- Decide when a rider is booked. Switch on Book a rider automatically and choose Accepted or Food ready, with an optional delay. Leave it off to press Book rider on each order.
- Decide what the customer pays. Under What the customer pays for delivery choose My pricing or The live rider quote, then press Save.
- Set the provider order. Move Porter or Rapido up or down and set how many seconds to search each one before trying the next.
Who pays for the delivery?
| Choice | What the customer sees at checkout | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| The live rider quote | The rider's live fare for that address as the delivery charge | Passing the real cost on |
| My pricing | Your own radius pricing, such as a flat fee or a fee per km | A fixed, simple delivery price |
| Let the restaurant choose who pays delivery | No delivery charge at checkout; the customer pays the rider at the drop | Customers used to paying the rider |
Example: a short wallet. Your Porter wallet holds ₹150 and a trip costs ₹180. With Pay for Porter trips set to Wallet, ₹150 comes from the wallet and the rider collects the remaining ₹30 in cash at pickup. (Example figures, not Porter's fares.)
The return-trip charge setting never changes Porter or Rapido fares, because their fares are already the real price of the trip.
Your riders nearby, Porter or Rapido further out
Route by distance splits deliveries into up to 5 bands, each with its own carrier and payment rule. It's part of the Porter and Rapido add-on. Here's a ladder for a restaurant with a few riders of its own:
| Band | Carrier | Payment at checkout | Charged at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 2 km | You deliver it | Cash & online | Your own delivery pricing |
| 2 to 8 km | Third-party rider (Porter, then Rapido) | Online only | The live rider quote |
| 8 km and beyond | Shiprocket | Online only | The Shiprocket rate |
A band beyond your delivery radius is refused at checkout unless it uses Shiprocket. A drop whose distance can't be measured falls in the first band. Online payment in a band needs a payment gateway connected. Without Shiprocket, simply use two bands. For far orders by courier, see the Shiprocket integration.
Limits to know
- India only. Porter and Rapido book riders only for stores in India.
- An add-on on request. Ask Menuthere support to add it. Its price isn't listed on the pricing page.
- One rider service at a time. Delivery agents (such as Adloggs) also book riders. With both on, one order could get two riders, so use one at a time.
- Not with customer-booked couriers. If customers book their own courier, this tab does nothing, because no rider is booked.
- Your own riders' door QR doesn't apply. The rider-app payment QR is for your own riders; for Porter and Rapido you choose who pays above.

FAQs
Can Menuthere book Porter riders automatically?
Yes. Switch on Book a rider automatically and Menuthere books a rider when an order is Accepted or Food ready, with an optional delay. You can also book by hand with Book rider.
Do I need my own Porter and Rapido accounts?
Yes. You connect your own accounts with their mobile numbers and an OTP. Trips are paid from your own wallet or in cash, not through Menuthere.
What happens if no rider is found?
The next provider in your list is tried. If none accepts, press Book rider to try again or assign one of your own riders.
Can the customer pay the rider's real fare?
Yes. Choose The live rider quote and checkout shows the rider's live fare for that address as the delivery charge. Or choose My pricing to charge your own delivery price.
Is Porter and Rapido included in every plan?
No. It's an add-on that Menuthere support adds on request. Ask support for it.
Can I use my own riders and Porter together?
Yes. You can assign your own rider on any order, and Route by distance can send near orders to your riders and far ones to Porter or Rapido automatically.
Does this work outside India?
No. Porter and Rapido book riders only for stores in India. Stores outside India can connect Uber Direct instead.
