Free café menu template
Updated October 20, 2026
Open our free café menu template, add your coffees, breakfast plates and cakes, and download a print-ready PDF: it's the Café design in our free menu maker, with a warm brown script heading, Small and Large prices for drinks, and room for a short food menu. No sign-up, no email and no watermark. It prints on US Letter or A4, or as a counter board. Below: what's in it, how to price two cup sizes, and what moved in café costs this year.
In short
- The template: Café layout, brown, script heading; Coffee, Breakfast and Something sweet.
- Two sizes per drink on one line, Small and Large.
- Costs moved: coffee +7.1%, fresh fruit +4.9% and milk +2.3%, while eggs fell 20.6% (12 months to September 2026, BLS).
- Mostly drinks? The coffee shop template has ounce sizes and an espresso bar. Mostly pastries? Try the bakery template.
What's in the café menu template
It opens as "Bean & Bloom" with example dishes.
| Section | Example items | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee | Espresso, Americano, Cappuccino (Small / Large), Latte (Small / Large), Cold brew | Drinks first: most café orders start with one |
| Breakfast | Avocado toast, Granola bowl, Egg and cheese bagel | Three plates that need no full kitchen |
| Something sweet | Banana bread, Chocolate chip cookie | Impulse add-ons at the counter |
You can rename the sizes (8 oz / 12 oz, or Regular / Large), add a section for tea or lunch, and turn on veg marks.
How to price two cup sizes
The Large usually costs you a little more milk and coffee, but takes the same labor. So the extra price is mostly margin.
Worked example: the template's latte. Small $4.50, Large $5.50.
| Small (12 oz) | Large (16 oz) | |
|---|---|---|
| Espresso | 2 shots, $0.50 | 2 shots, $0.50 |
| Milk | 10 oz, $0.31 | 14 oz, $0.43 |
| Cup and lid | $0.15 | $0.18 |
| Cost | $0.96 | $1.11 |
| Price | $4.50 | $5.50 |
| Cost % | 21.3% | 20.2% |
| Left after ingredients | $3.54 | $4.39 |
The Large earns 85¢ more for 15¢ more cost. The ingredient costs are examples; run your own with the recipe cost calculator. Coffee prices rose 7.1% in the 12 months to September 2026, so a drink costed last year may need a new price.

Café menu rules worth knowing
| Rule | Who it applies to | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Written allergen notice | Food codes based on the FDA Food Code (§ 3-602.12) | Name major allergens: milk in most drinks, tree nuts in almond milk, wheat and eggs in bakes |
| Calories on the menu | Chains of 20 or more locations | Calories next to each drink and plate, plus the 2,000-calorie statement |
| Calories by the pastry case | The same chains | Food on display, like a pastry case, needs a calorie sign next to it |
An independent café doesn't have to show calories. See the FDA menu labeling guide. Cakes that change daily? Put them on a daily specials board and leave the printed menu alone.

FAQs
Is this café menu template free?
Yes. Edit it and download it as a PDF or an image for free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
What should a café menu include?
Coffee and tea with sizes, a few breakfast or lunch plates, something sweet, your hours and an allergy line. A short café menu fits on one page.
Can I change Small and Large to ounces?
Yes. Rename each size, for example 12 oz and 16 oz, and give each its own price.
Is there a café menu template for Google Docs?
The menu maker downloads PDFs and images. This page has a copy-ready layout you can paste into Google Docs or Word.
How much more should a large coffee cost?
There's no standard. Cost the extra milk, coffee and cup, then add the margin you want. The extra ingredients cost little, so most of the difference is margin: in our example the Large costs 15 cents more to make and sells for a dollar more.
