Delivery App Commission Rates 2026: Global Index

Delivery app commission rates 2026: a global index

Updated October 25, 2026

Last updated: October 2026. This index pulls together what the major delivery apps charge restaurants across 74 countries into one dated table. Every rate traces to the per-market page that sources and dates it; most per-market pages were last checked in September or October 2026.

Across the world's delivery apps in 2026, restaurants pay roughly 15% to 35% of each order in commission, with most published rates clustering around 20% to 30%. Rates are lowest where a government caps them — Qatar at 19%, Kuwait at 17% — and where an app offers a pickup-only or self-delivery tier. They are highest in parts of Europe and Southeast Asia, where 30% to 40% appears on delivery orders. Several US cities cap third-party fees at 15%. This page gives the figures by region and by app; each links to the full per-market breakdown with its source and date.

In short

  • Typical delivery commission: about 15%–35% of the order, most published rates 20%–30%.
  • Lowest: capped markets (Qatar 19%, Kuwait 17%), pickup and self-delivery tiers (often 0%–15%), and US cities with a 15% cap.
  • Highest: some European and Southeast Asian delivery rates reach 30%–40%.
  • The country of the order sets the rate, not the app's home country; the same app charges different rates in different markets.
  • Figures mirror our per-market pages, each sourced and dated. Where an app publishes nothing and no source reports a rate, we say so rather than invent one.

What delivery apps charge, by world region

Delivery commission only; pickup and self-delivery tiers are usually lower and are shown on each per-market page. Spans are the lowest and highest sourced delivery rate we hold in that region.

What each major app charges, worldwide

The span is the lowest and highest sourced delivery-commission rate across the markets we cover for each app. An app's rate is set in your contract and varies by country, plan and cuisine, so treat a wide span as "it depends on your market" and open the linked page for your country.

What the commission does and doesn't include

The rate above is the delivery-order commission on your food subtotal. It does not include the extras, which differ by app and contract:

  • Pickup and self-delivery tiers are usually much lower than the delivery rate, sometimes 0%.
  • Card processing is sometimes inside the commission and sometimes a separate percentage-plus-fixed fee.
  • Paid promotions, ads, onboarding, tablet rental and refunds are on top and are not in these spans.
  • The sales tax or VAT on the food itself is yours to account for; in some markets the platform now remits it.

Your signed agreement and monthly statement are always the final word. Each linked per-market page carries the full breakdown and a worked example.

Where commissions are capped by law

A handful of jurisdictions cap what a delivery app can charge a restaurant:

  • Qatar: capped at 19% when the app markets and delivers, 10% when it only markets.
  • Kuwait: Ministerial Decision 109 of 2026 caps everything combined at 17% when the app delivers, 10% when the restaurant delivers, with the customer's delivery fee capped at KD 1.
  • United States (city level): New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Washington DC and Portland (Oregon) cap third-party fees, most at 15% (Philadelphia at 10% commission + 5% other). See US food delivery statistics 2026 for the city-by-city detail.

Most other markets have no cap: each restaurant's rate is set in its own contract.

Why some rates are a wide span or marked "not published"

Many apps — especially outside North America and Europe — don't publish a rate card, so each restaurant's rate is set privately in its contract. For those markets we piece the figure together from the app's own prospectus and annual report, dated restaurant-software guides, regulators and the trade press, and show it as a range. Where we found nothing citable, the per-market page says "not published" rather than guess. That honesty is the point of this index.

Method

  • Coverage: 156 markets (app × country) across 74 countries and 51 apps, grouped into six regions.
  • Scope of the figure: delivery-order commission on the food subtotal. Pickup, self-delivery, card and other fees are on each per-market page.
  • Sources: each app's own partner pages, prospectuses and annual reports where it publishes a rate; otherwise dated restaurant-software guides, regulators and the trade press. Every figure's source and access date is on its linked per-market page.
  • Checked: the per-market pages were last checked in September and October 2026; this index was compiled on 25 October 2026.
  • Caps: stated as the legal maximum when the app delivers; your contract may be lower.
  • Updates: we recheck figures when an app or regulator announces a change and update the date at the top. This page is year-stamped 2026 and refreshed on the same schedule as the per-market pages.

Keep your regulars commission-free

The pattern is the same everywhere: marketplaces are good at finding new customers, but paying 15% to 35% every time the same customer reorders is expensive. The usual approach is to stay on the apps for discovery and move your regulars to your own ordering page.

With Menuthere you get your own ordering website, QR menus and table ordering at 0% commission on every plan. The Free plan covers up to 50 orders a month; card payments run through your own payment account. See commission-free online ordering and work out your own numbers with the delivery app loss calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How much commission do delivery apps charge restaurants in 2026?

Worldwide, restaurants pay roughly 15% to 35% of each delivery order, with most published rates clustering around 20% to 30%. The rate is lower on pickup and self-delivery tiers and where a government caps it (Qatar 19%, Kuwait 17%, several US cities 15%), and higher in parts of Europe and Southeast Asia where 30% to 40% appears. Your exact rate is set in your contract.

Which delivery app has the lowest commission?

There is no single lowest app; the rate depends on the country, plan and whether you take delivery or pickup orders. Pickup and self-delivery tiers are usually far lower than the delivery rate, sometimes 0%, and capped markets (Qatar, Kuwait, several US cities) hold delivery commission at or below their legal maximum. Check the per-market page for your country.

Does the same app charge the same commission everywhere?

No. The country of the order sets the rate, not the app's home country. Uber Eats, Rappi, Glovo, talabat and the rest charge different rates in different markets, and the span for each app on this page reflects that. Open your country's page for the sourced local figure.

What isn't included in the commission rate?

The delivery-commission rate doesn't include card processing (sometimes separate), paid promotions and ads, onboarding or tablet fees, refunds, or the sales tax or VAT on the food itself. Pickup and self-delivery tiers are priced separately and are usually lower. Each per-market page lists the extras and a worked example.

Where are delivery app commissions capped by law?

Qatar caps commission at 19% (10% for pickup or self-delivery) and Kuwait at 17% (10% for self-delivery), both covering all fees combined. In the US, several cities — New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Washington DC and Portland, Oregon — cap third-party fees, most at 15%. Most other markets have no cap.

How often is this index updated?

We recheck figures whenever an app or regulator announces a change and update the date at the top. The page is year-stamped 2026; the individual market pages carry their own check dates, mostly September and October 2026.
