The short answer
WooCommerce is a free plugin for WordPress. It charges no platform fee, no revenue share and no extra fee for using another payment gateway. You can build almost any restaurant setup with it.
The restaurant parts are plugins. Orderable is built for restaurants: its Pro license (US$149 a year) adds delivery and pickup time and date selection, add-ons, table ordering with QR codes and tips, and it charges no commission. Kitchen printing, loyalty and delivery-date tools are further plugins, most priced per year.
The hidden cost is time. Hosting, updates, plugin conflicts and backups are your job, or your developer's. That suits a restaurant with a WordPress site and someone who enjoys running it.

Prices from each maker's own page, in US dollars, read on 20 October 2026.
| Need | Plugin or service | Price | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Store | WooCommerce | Free | Products, cart and checkout, $0 platform fee |
| Hosting | WordPress.com Business (plugins allowed) | US$25 a month billed yearly, US$40 monthly | Managed hosting; WooCommerce's own range is US$25 to US$350 a month |
| Restaurant ordering | Orderable Pro | US$149 a year for 1 site | Time and date slots, add-ons, table QR ordering, tips; Free version has lead times |
| Add-ons only | WooCommerce Product Add-Ons | US$79 a year | Extras such as gift wrap or messages, if you don't use Orderable |
| Delivery date and slots only | Order Delivery Date Pro | US$119 a year for 1 site | Time slots per date and order limits per slot |
| Kitchen printing | BizPrint Plus | US$12 a month billed yearly + US$0.025 per print job | Prints orders automatically; its page says thermal printer support is still in progress |
| Loyalty | WooCommerce Points and Rewards | US$179 a year | Points on purchases |
| Card payments | WooPayments | No monthly fee; 2.9% + US$0.30 in the US | Available in 38 countries |
What to plan for
WordPress, WooCommerce and each plugin update on their own schedule. A conflict on a Friday night is yours to fix, or your developer's.
WooCommerce's Print Invoices & Packing Lists (US$79 a year) prints invoices and packing slips, not kitchen tickets. Cloud printing such as BizPrint charges per print job.
Most extensions cost US$29 to US$299 a year each, by WooCommerce's own range, and renew yearly. Add them up before you start.
No platform fee, no gateway surcharge, full control of your site and data, and a capable restaurant plugin in Orderable.
A worked example
Delivery, takeaway and table QR ordering, a kitchen ticket per order, and points for regulars. Yearly licenses divided by 12; US dollars, before card fees.
| Cost line | WooCommerce setup | Menuthere Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting or plan | WordPress.com Business, monthly: US$40 | US$39 |
| Restaurant ordering | Orderable Pro: US$149 a year = US$12.42 | Included |
| Kitchen tickets | BizPrint Plus: US$12 + 600 jobs × US$0.025 = US$27 | Included |
| Loyalty points | Points and Rewards: US$179 a year = US$14.92 | Included |
| Hosting and updates | Your time or a developer's | Hosted and updated for you |
| Monthly total before card fees | US$94.34 | US$39 |
On WordPress.com Business billed yearly (US$25 a month) the WooCommerce setup comes to US$79.34 a month. Menuthere Lite, US$17, covers everything here except loyalty. Menuthere's yearly billing charges 10 months for 12.
When WooCommerce is the better choice
You already have a WordPress site with a blog and good search rankings, and someone who maintains it. Adding WooCommerce and Orderable keeps everything on one site.
You want total control of design, data and code, and custom features a hosted system won't build for you.
You ship products: sauces and merch through WooCommerce's shipping. Menuthere doesn't ship parcels.
Use both: keep WordPress for content and link an Order online button to your Menuthere ordering page, with nothing to update.
