How to join Deliveroo as a restaurant: the UK partner guide (2026)
Updated 19 October 2026
Short answer: To become a Deliveroo restaurant partner in the UK, fill in the sign-up form on Deliveroo's partner site. A specialist contacts you, then you finish onboarding in Partner Hub: add your menu, opening hours and bank details, choose a photography package and accept the agreement. You need a food hygiene rating of at least 2 from the FSA. Deliveroo says you can be live in as little as 7 days.
Deliveroo sets commission in each restaurant's agreement. The only rate it publishes is 35% + VAT for Marketplace+ restaurants when Deliveroo's riders are switched on. There's also a one-off joining fee. Get every figure in writing before you sign.
This guide is written for owners. It covers who can join, each step, costs, the tablet, delivery radius, marketing, support numbers and the clauses to read first.
Checked 11 October 2026 against Deliveroo's UK partner pages, partner FAQs, partner terms and Help Centre. Deliveroo can change its process at any time. Your agreement is the final word.

How does Deliveroo work for restaurants?
Deliveroo is a marketplace. Customers within your delivery radius find you in the app, order and pay. The order arrives on your Deliveroo tablet, and a ticket prints for the kitchen. Then the food goes out in one of these ways:
| Model | Who delivers | Commission |
|---|---|---|
| Deliveroo delivers | Deliveroo riders | Set in your agreement. Not published |
| Marketplace+ with Deliveroo riders on | Deliveroo riders | 35% + VAT of order value incl. VAT (partner terms) |
| Marketplace+ with your own riders | Your drivers. You set your own radius | Set in your agreement |
| Pickup | The customer collects | Set in your agreement |
Deliveroo also lists Editions (for existing partners, on a single commission rate) and Deliveroo Express (on-demand riders for orders from your own website or app). Ask your account manager whether either fits you.
Who can join Deliveroo? (requirements)
| Requirement | What Deliveroo says | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Food hygiene rating | Proof of an FSA rating of at least 2 | Lower than Just Eat, which asks for 3 or more |
| No rating yet | You can start onboarding with evidence that you've begun registering as a food business | Register with your council at least 28 days before you trade (GOV.UK). Deliveroo may hold your application until you can show proof |
| ID and hygiene checks | The agreement only takes effect once checks, including ID and hygiene rating, are passed | Have photo ID and your rating details ready |
| Food hygiene and safety policy | You must follow it | Read it before you sign |
| Home kitchens | Not stated on the partner pages or in the partner terms | Ask Deliveroo before you apply |
Tip: your rating matters after you join too. Deliveroo's terms use your FSA rating as one of the checks for access to Marketer adverts and offers, so a weak rating can cost you those tools. Our guide to getting a 5-star food hygiene rating shows how to move up.
What to have ready before you sign up
- Your business name, address and contact details
- Photo ID for the owner
- Your FSA rating (search the FSA ratings site by name and address) or proof that you've registered
- Your full delivery menu with prices, sizes and add-ons
- Allergen information for every dish. Keep an allergen matrix to hand
- Opening hours for delivery and pickup
- Business bank details for payouts
- Your VAT number, if you're registered
- Decide: own device or a leased Deliveroo tablet (this changes the joining fee)
How to join Deliveroo: step by step
1. Check your hygiene rating. You need 2 or more. If you're new, register with your council first.
2. Fill in the sign-up form. Go to Deliveroo's partner site (merchants.deliveroo.com) and choose "Become a partner". Tell Deliveroo about your business.
3. Speak to the specialist team. Deliveroo says its team will get in touch to discuss your needs. Many owners call this the Deliveroo onboarding session. Use it to ask for your commission rate for each order type, in writing.
4. Choose your delivery model. Deliveroo riders, Marketplace+ with your own riders, or pickup. This decides your rate and your radius.
5. Complete onboarding in Partner Hub. Deliveroo's FAQ lists five tasks:
- add your menu
- set your opening hours
- add your bank details
- choose a photography package
- accept your agreement
6. Read the agreement before you accept it. See "Clauses to read first" below.
7. Receive your tablet. Deliveroo creates your menu and sends a tablet with a built-in printer. Install it and you're ready to open.
8. Go live. Deliveroo says it can have you running in as little as 7 days.
Onboarding by email instead? Deliveroo's FAQ lists uk.menus@deliveroo.co.uk for sending your FSA rating link during email onboarding.
How much does it cost to join Deliveroo?
| Cost | What Deliveroo says | Notes |
|---|---|---|

| Joining fee | One-off. Depends on whether you use your own device or lease Deliveroo's | Amount not published. Ask for it in writing |
| Tablet | Tablet with an integrated printer | On a leased device, Deliveroo keeps title and may charge to repair or replace it |
| Photography | Paid packages from £83 (15 photos) to £497 (125 photos), incl. taxes | You can upload your own photos in Menu Manager |
| Offers | You fund them. Commission is charged on the discounted price | – |
| Ads (Marketer) | Charged per menu view, within your budget, plus VAT | Optional |
| Cancellations you cause | A fee equal to the commission | Policy from 30 September 2025 |
| VAT | 20% on all Deliveroo fees | Reclaimable if you're VAT-registered |
Example: on a £25 order at 35% + VAT, Deliveroo takes £8.75 + £1.75 VAT. You receive £14.50.
Ask the specialist team whether any sign-up offer applies to you, and get it in writing.
Hot takeaway food is standard-rated for VAT, and Deliveroo charges on the VAT-inclusive price. Read our guide to VAT on takeaway food before you set prices.
When does Deliveroo pay?
Weekly. Deliveroo invoices on a Monday–Sunday week and pays every Thursday in the UK. Commission, VAT, refunds and ad spend come off first.
The Deliveroo tablet and Partner Hub
- Tablet: new orders ring on the tablet. Once you accept, a ticket prints with the dishes to prepare.
- Partner Hub: Deliveroo's online account for partners. You use it for your menu, opening hours, bank details, reports, ratings, users and help. Older guides call it Restaurant Hub.
Our Deliveroo Restaurant Hub guide walks through each section.
Deliveroo delivery radius
Customers can only order from you if they're inside your delivery radius.
- Deliveroo riders: Deliveroo works to a set delivery radius. Ask your account manager whether yours can be changed.
- Marketplace+ with your own riders: you set your own radius.
A wider radius brings more orders but longer trips. Food quality and ratings can suffer. Start tight and widen it once your times are stable.
Deliveroo marketing for restaurants
- Marketer offers: discounts you fund, such as "£ off an item" or multibuy deals.
- Marketer ads: paid placement, charged per menu view.
- Marketer Rewards: a loyalty-style programme for Deliveroo customers.
- Value Programme: Deliveroo gives you a monthly Value Score. A good score can raise your visibility, and a low one can limit it.
Cost every offer first. At 35%, a 20% offer on a £25 order leaves you £11.60.
Deliveroo restaurant support numbers
| What you need | Route | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Thinking of joining | Merchant Sales contact form on merchants.deliveroo.com | – |
| Existing partners: live chat | Help section in Partner Hub | 10am–6pm GMT, Monday–Friday |
| Existing partners: phone | +44 (0)20 7138 9037 | Deliveroo says this line is for Hub log-in and live order queries only |
| How-to guides | help.deliveroo.com | Menus, hours, Marketer, ratings |
| Buying or selling a site | Change of Ownership form, via Partner Hub Help or by phone | Deliveroo says it usually takes about 10 days |
Stay safe: only use links and numbers from Deliveroo's own site. Never share your Hub login with someone who calls you out of the blue.
Clauses to read before you accept the agreement
- Commission for every order type. Delivery, own riders and pickup.
- Price parity. Deliveroo's terms say the prices you show on Deliveroo should be the same as your dine-in or in-store menu, for delivery, Marketplace+ and pickup orders. On pickup, if a customer shows your in-store price is lower, Deliveroo refunds the difference and takes it from your payment. That limits "app prices" to cover commission.
- Customer data. You may only use order details to fulfil that Deliveroo order. Don't add Deliveroo customers to your own marketing list.
- Photos. Deliveroo's photography terms restrict using its photos on competing platforms. Shoot your own photos if you also want them on your own site.
- Notice. Either side can end the agreement with 30 days' written notice.
- Device. Who owns the tablet, and what happens if it breaks.
How to keep your direct orders when you join Deliveroo
Deliveroo is good at finding new customers. Paying up to 42% (35% + VAT) on every repeat order is the problem. Here's how to use both, within the rules:
- Set up your own ordering page. Customers order collection, delivery or dine-in from your menu, with no app to download. Menuthere takes 0% commission. The Free plan covers 50 orders a month. Card payments go through your own Stripe account on Lite and above. On every plan, including Free, you can tag the 14 UK allergens, calories and a halal mark on each dish, and customers see them when they open it. See our commission-free online ordering system.
- Promote it on your own channels. Google Business Profile, Instagram, your shop window and the counter. Not through Deliveroo customer data.
- Make reordering easy on WhatsApp. A customer sends "Hi" to your number and taps Order Now. This is a Pro feature. Meta bills your own WhatsApp account per message, and Menuthere adds no markup. See WhatsApp ordering.
- Keep prices consistent. Because of price parity, give regulars a reason to order direct that isn't a cheaper menu, such as loyalty points (Pro), a free side on collection, or your own branded restaurant app that sends regulars push notifications.
