Can I refund an online order to a different card or bank account?

No. A refund can only go back to the original payment method. It cannot be sent to another card or bank account.

• If the original card has expired or been cancelled, the card issuer usually credits the customer's replacement card.
• If there is no replacement, the issuer usually pays the customer another way, such as a bank deposit.
• In rare cases a card refund fails. Then you must agree another way to repay the customer.
• Other payment methods, like bank debits, handle refunds differently from bank to bank.
