What is the difference between a menu link and menu items on Google?
By the Menuthere editorial team · Last updated
A menu link sends people to the page where your menu already lives. Menu items are dishes, descriptions and prices you enter on Google itself. They are separate.
- If Google finds several menu sources, you can pick the preferred one.
- Items can be listed with descriptions and prices, organised in sections.
- Changes to items can take 24 to 48 hours to show on Maps and Search.
- A profile whose menu comes through the Business Profile API may not have the editor.
- A menu link that opens a live ordering page keeps prices current without extra typing.
A live menu on Google
Use your Menuthere page as the menu link, so the menu customers see on Google is the live one they can order from, with prices that are always current.
