Free takeout menu template
Updated October 20, 2026
Open our free takeout menu template, add your dishes and prices, and print it to go in every bag: it's the Ledger design in teal with dotted price leaders, wings sold by the piece, wraps, combos and sides, and a tagline that tells people to call ahead or order online. No sign-up, no email and no watermark. Below: what's in it, how to fold it into a tri-fold, and why the order-online line on a takeout menu is worth more than any other.
In short
- The template: Ledger layout, teal, Montserrat heading; Wings, Wraps and sandwiches, Combos, Sides.
- Counts as sizes: 6, 12 and 24 wings on one line, each with its price.
- The real job of a takeout menu: turning the next order into a direct one. A $30 order through an app at 25% commission costs you $7.50.
- New York: foam takeout containers have been banned statewide since January 1, 2022.
What's in the takeout menu template
It opens as "Main Street Grill", a pickup and delivery spot.
| Section | Example items | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Wings | Bone-in (6 / 12 / 24 pc), Boneless (8 / 16 pc) | Sizes by count make group orders easy |
| Wraps and sandwiches | Chicken Caesar wrap, Philly cheesesteak, Falafel wrap | Travel well in a bag |
| Combos | Wing combo, Wrap combo | One price for a main, fries and a drink |
| Sides | Fries (Regular / Large), Mac and cheese | Add-ons |

Tri-fold takeout menus
A tri-fold folds a Letter sheet (11 × 8.5 in, landscape) into three panels of about 3.67 × 8.5 inches. The menu maker downloads a single-sided Letter or A4 page, or a landscape counter board, not a ready-folded tri-fold. Two ways to get one:
- Print the landscape counter board on Letter and fold it in three: the template's four sections fall roughly one per panel, with the combos in the middle.
- Copy the layout below into Word or Google Docs, set three columns on a landscape Letter page, and print both sides.
Put your phone number, hours, address and a QR code to order online on the front panel, because that's the side that faces up on a fridge.
Worked example: what a delivery app keeps
The US delivery apps' marketplace commissions: DoorDash 15%, 25% or 30% by plan; Uber Eats 20%, 25% or 30%; Grubhub's marketing commission 5%, 15% or 20%, plus delivery from 10%.
| Order | Through an app at 25% | Direct, on your own ordering page |
|---|---|---|
| 24 bone-in wings, $30 | You keep $22.50 | You keep $30, less card fees |
| A combo and a wrap, $25 | You keep $18.75 | You keep $25, less card fees |
So a printed menu with "Order direct at [your link]" on the front pays for its printing the first time someone uses it. Compare every app on our US delivery app commission page, and see how a reorder QR on your takeout packaging works.
US chicken prices fell 0.6% in the 12 months to September 2026 (BLS), so wings costed last year are close to right. Recheck your sauces and oil.

Takeout rules worth checking
- Foam containers: New York banned expanded polystyrene (foam) food containers for restaurants and other food service providers from January 1, 2022. Raw meat and seafood for customers to cook, and food packed before it reached you, are exempt, and small businesses can apply for a hardship waiver. New York City has its own foam ban. Many other cities and states have similar rules, so check yours.
- Allergens: name major allergens in writing if your food code is based on the FDA Food Code (§ 3-602.12). Wings sauces often hide milk, soy or wheat.
- Sales tax on takeout depends on your state; our guide to sales tax on restaurant food covers it.

FAQs
Is this takeout menu template free?
Yes. Edit it and download it as a PDF or an image for free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Can I make a tri-fold takeout menu?
The menu maker downloads a single page or a landscape counter board, not a folded layout. Fold the landscape Letter board in three, or paste this page's copy-ready layout into three columns in Word or Google Docs.
What should a takeout menu include?
Your phone number, a link or QR code to order online, your address, hours, delivery area and minimum order, then the dishes with prices and an allergy line. Put the contact details on the panel that shows first.
How much do delivery apps charge restaurants?
In the US, DoorDash charges 15%, 25% or 30% depending on the plan, Uber Eats 20%, 25% or 30%, and Grubhub 5%, 15% or 20% for marketing plus delivery from 10%. On a $30 order at 25%, that's $7.50.
Is there a take out menu template for Word?
The menu maker downloads PDFs and images, not Word files. Use the copy-ready layout on this page in Word or Google Docs.
