A restaurant loyalty app with your name on it
Updated 19 October 2026
A restaurant loyalty app gives your regulars points for ordering from you, and a reason to come back. With Menuthere, loyalty is part of your ordering, so there's no separate stamp-card app to run. On Pro (US$39 a month) points work on your ordering website. On Branded App (US$99 a month) customers also get your own app on the App Store and Google Play, where they see their points, reorder in a tap and get your push notifications. Both are billed in US dollars, and we take 0% commission on every plan.
In short
- Points come with every completed order. No card to stamp, no separate loyalty tool to connect.
- Pro, US$39 a month: loyalty points on your ordering website, plus WhatsApp ordering on your own number.
- Branded App, US$99 a month: your own Android and iOS app under your name, where customers see their points.
- 1 point = £1, and points never expire. You choose the earn rate and how much of a bill points can pay.
- Push notifications bring regulars back: unlimited, scheduled or repeating, on Branded App.
- Nothing to pay at signup on Branded App, and 0% commission on all plans.
Stamp card, loyalty app or points in your ordering?
Most UK cafés and takeaways start with a paper stamp card. Here's how the three options compare.
| Paper stamp card | Separate loyalty app | Points built into Menuthere ordering | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How customers earn | A stamp at the till | Scanning a code or showing a card | Automatically, on every completed order |
| Works for online orders? | No | Only if it connects to your ordering system or till | Yes: points are part of the order |
| Customers install | Nothing | Usually the vendor's app | Nothing on Pro; your own app on Branded App |
| Can you message members? | No | Depends on the vendor | Push notifications on Branded App; WhatsApp order updates on Pro |
| What it costs | Printing | The loyalty tool, plus your ordering system | One plan: Pro (US$39) or Branded App (US$99) |

Two ways to run loyalty with Menuthere
| Pro: points on your website | Branded App: points in your own app | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | US$39 a month | US$99 a month, or US$990 a year billed yearly |
| Where customers see points | On your ordering website, in the phone's browser | In your own app on their home screen |
| Your app on the App Store and Google Play | No | Yes, under your name and icon |
| Reaching customers | WhatsApp ordering and order updates on your own number | Unlimited push notifications, plus everything in Pro |
| Commission | 0% | 0% |
| Free trial | 7 days (a card is needed to start; nothing is charged until it ends) | No: we build and publish an app for you |
Start on Pro to test loyalty, then move to Branded App when regulars order often enough to install an app. Your menu, orders and customers come with you.
How points work, in pounds
You set the rules in Promotions → Loyalty → Settings, separately for delivery, takeaway and dine-in:
- Earn rate: a percentage of each completed order's total, given back as points.
- 1 point is worth £1, and that's fixed. Points are whole numbers, rounded down.
- Minimum order to earn, the most of a bill points can pay, and the minimum points needed to redeem.
- Points don't expire. You can add or remove points by hand, with a reason.
- Customers sign in to earn. Guest orders don't collect points.
Worked example: choosing an earn rate for a £20 average order
Because 1 point = £1 and points round down, pick your rate with your typical order in mind.
| Earn rate | Points on a £20 order | Points on a £30 order | What it feels like to the customer |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2% | 0 (0.4 rounds down) | 0 (0.6 rounds down) | Nothing on a single order, so it won't motivate anyone |
| 5% | 1 (£1) | 1 (£1.50 rounds down to £1) | About £1 back per order |
| 10% | 2 (£2) | 3 (£3) | A noticeable reward; check it against your margins |
A 5% rate on a £20 order is £1 off a future order. Set Max bill coverage (say 50%) so points can't pay for a whole meal, and a minimum to redeem (say 5 points) so regulars save up. See how to set up loyalty points for every setting.
Why points work harder inside your own app
Points only bring people back if customers remember them.
- Your icon sits on their home screen, one tap away, not a Google search away.
- You can remind them. A push notification lands on their lock screen: "You've got £3 in points. Fancy a curry tonight?"
Push notifications are included and unlimited on Branded App. Each has a title (up to 65 characters), a message (up to 240) and an optional image. Send it to all app users or followers only, now, scheduled, or repeating daily or weekly. See how push notifications work.
Promotional messages are marketing. Keep offers to people who want them, and read our guide to UK GDPR and PECR for marketing messages.
Push ideas for your loyalty members
- Points reminders: "Your points are waiting. Use them on Friday's order."
- Quiet-night offers: "Tuesday only: free poppadoms with any curry."
- Big UK dates: Pancake Day, Bonfire Night, Christmas platters, Eid, Diwali, Burns Night or the football.
- Weekly habits: a repeating Monday-morning push for coffee regulars, or a Friday-evening one for pizza night.
Who it suits
| Business | Why points help |
|---|---|
| Cafés and coffee shops | Daily regulars order ahead and see points build up. |
| Takeaways and pizza shops | Weekly orders earn a reward that brings them back to you, not a marketplace. See the takeaway app builder. |
| Bakeries | Repeat and pre-ordered cakes earn points towards the next one. |
| Groups with several sites | One loyalty programme across your outlets (several outlets come with Pro). |
If most of your orders are first-time or passing customers, a loyalty app won't do much. Start with a free ordering website instead. More on how points work: loyalty programme.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best loyalty app for a UK restaurant or café?
The one your regulars actually use. Points that arrive automatically with every order are easier than a card customers have to remember. With Menuthere, points are part of your ordering: on your website with Pro, or in your own app with Branded App.
Is there a free restaurant loyalty app?
Menuthere's loyalty points aren't on the Free plan. They come with Pro at US$39 a month, which you can try free for 7 days. For walk-in customers, you can print a free stamp card with our loyalty card maker.
How much is a loyalty point worth?
One point is worth £1 for a UK store, and that's fixed. You choose the earn rate as a percentage of each order, and points are whole numbers, rounded down.
Do loyalty points expire?
No. A balance stays until it's spent or you remove points by hand.
Can customers see their points in my app?
Yes. On the Branded App plan, customers see their points in your own app, and they can order, pay and reorder there too.
Do I need the Branded App plan to offer loyalty points?
No. Loyalty points come with Pro at US$39 a month and work on your ordering website. Branded App adds your own app and unlimited push notifications.
Is the price in pounds?
No. Menuthere bills UK stores in US dollars, so you pay US$39 or US$99 a month and your bank converts it to pounds.
Do you take commission on orders?
No. Menuthere takes 0% commission on every plan. Your card payment gateway charges its own processing fee.
Is there a free trial of Branded App?
No, because we build and publish an app for you, but nothing is paid at signup. You pay the first month after a call with our founder, and it counts from the day your app goes live. You can try Pro, which includes loyalty points, free for 7 days first.
