How do I take online orders with no commission?
By the Menuthere editorial team · Updated
Take orders on your own channels — a website, click & collect, a QR code, Google and WhatsApp — instead of Uber Eats or Deliveroo. Delivery apps take 15% to 33% or more per order; your own system takes a flat fee and 0% commission. With Menuthere you start on the Free plan at $0 and keep every cent.
- "No commission" means 0% of the order value; the card fee from your payment gateway still applies, and that is not Menuthere's.
- Menuthere is 0% commission on every plan, including Free, which includes 50 orders a month at $0.
- Your customers order from a link, a QR code, your Google listing or WhatsApp, with no app to download.
- A flat fee beats commission as soon as you have steady orders, because it doesn't grow with your sales.
- Paid plans (Lite $17/month, Pro $39/month) add your own domain, online card payments and WhatsApp on your own number.
Keep 100% of every order
Menuthere gives you an ordering and click & collect site, printable QR codes and WhatsApp ordering on your own number, with 0% commission and a Free plan to start. Payments go straight to your own account.
What does "no commission" actually mean?
It means 0% taken from your order value, on every order. You pay a flat fee (or nothing on Free), plus whatever your payment gateway charges to process a card. That card fee goes to the gateway, not to Menuthere. It is different from a delivery app, which takes a percentage of every order.
| Delivery app | Your own site | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost model | 15–33%+ per order | Flat fee, 0% per order |
| Cost at 100 orders | Grows with every order | The same as at 10 orders |
| Card fee | Included in the commission | Paid to your gateway, separately |
| Starting cost | Paid per order | $0 on the Free plan |
How do I set up my own commission-free ordering?
You build your menu, get an order link and a click & collect site, then bring customers to it. Put a QR code on tables, receipts and packaging, add an order link to your Google listing, pin it on Instagram and Facebook, and share it on WhatsApp. Each of these costs nothing and points at your page, not a marketplace.
- A printable QR code on tables and takeaway bags.
- An order link on your Google listing.
- Your WhatsApp number, so regulars reorder in a chat.
- The link in your Instagram and Facebook bio.
What fees remain, and what about VAT?
The card fee from your payment gateway remains if you take payment online; cash or pay-on-pickup is free. On VAT, Uber Eats and Deliveroo add 20% VAT on their fees in France. Your subscription to an ordering tool is also subject to VAT, which a VAT-registered business can usually deduct. Menuthere never takes a commission on the order itself.
Who this is a good fit for
- Restaurants, cafés and bakeries that already get repeat customers and want to stop losing a cut to an app.
- Owners who can send customers to their own link through QR codes, Google, Instagram and WhatsApp.
- Those who want to start free and move to a paid plan only when the extra features pay for themselves.
Who this is not for
- A brand-new place with no customer base: an app's marketplace can bring the first orders while you build your own channel alongside it.
- An owner who wants someone else to handle the delivery riders; your own system means your own or a courier's delivery.
Common follow-up questions
Does "no commission" mean no cost at all?
No. You pay a flat fee (or nothing on Free), plus your payment gateway's card fee if you take payment online. What goes away is the percentage taken from every order.
Can I really start for free?
Yes. The Free plan is $0 and includes 50 orders a month, your menu, an ordering site and QR codes. Past 50 orders the menu turns view-only until the 1st, or you upgrade to an unlimited paid plan.
Should I leave Uber Eats and Deliveroo entirely?
Not necessarily. Many restaurants keep the apps for discovery and push their regulars to their own commission-free link. See how much Uber Eats costs.
