What does a ₹500 Zomato or Swiggy order actually leave me after commission, GST and discounts?
By the Menuthere editorial team · Last updated
In Business Standard's example, a ₹500 order leaves the restaurant ₹287.70. The platform cost works out to 42.5%.
- The example takes 22% commission (₹110), then 18% GST on it (₹19.80).
- It also takes packaging ₹25, a restaurant-funded discount ₹50 and a gateway fee ₹7.50.
- Advertised commission is often 15–30%, but total deductions run from 25% to over 35%.
- Your own numbers will differ. Add up every line on your own payout statement.
- Compare this with an order on your own link, where there is no commission.

Orders on your own Menuthere ordering link carry 0% commission and no per-order fee, so more of each order stays with you. Payment-gateway fees are charged by the gateway.
