Is the price of .com domains going up in 2026?
By the Menuthere editorial team · Last updated
Yes. Verisign is raising the .com wholesale price by 7% from 1 November 2026, from $10.26 to $10.97 a year. Your registrar will usually pass the rise on to you at renewal.
- The rise was announced on 23 April 2026 and takes effect on 1 November 2026.
- This is the wholesale price the registry charges. Registrars add their own margin on top.
- Verisign's contracts allow rises in the last four years of each six-year period, with at least six months' notice.
- A rise of about 70 cents a year is small for one restaurant, but check your renewal price before it renews.
- Cheap first-year offers can cost more at renewal, so compare the renewal price too.
An ordering link that does not need a domain
Your Menuthere ordering website works on its own Menuthere link, so a domain price rise never stops you taking orders. Add your own domain when you want one.
