What should I do when a customer changes their delivery address after ordering on WhatsApp?
By the Menuthere editorial team · Last updated
First check if the order has already left the kitchen. If not, confirm the new address in writing, say whether the delivery fee changes, and only then update the order.
- Ask the customer to send the full new address and a landmark in one message, so nothing is guessed.
- Check the new address is inside your delivery area and tell them the fee, if it is different.
- If the rider has already left, say so politely and offer to hand over the order to the new place only if it is on the way.
- Write the change on the order and tell the rider, so the old address is not used by mistake.
- Reply with one line that repeats the new address, so the customer can correct it at once.
Fewer address changes after the order
On your Menuthere link the customer types the address before paying and sees the delivery fee for that address, so the order reaches you with the right place already on it.
