Restaurant POS and ordering software pricing in 2026
Updated October 25, 2026
Last updated: October 2026. Every price below is quoted from the vendor's own pricing page, on the date shown. Where a vendor publishes no price, we label it "quote only" rather than guess. Prices change, so treat this as a dated snapshot and confirm on the vendor's page before you buy.
In 2026, restaurant online-ordering software runs from $0 a month (free plans and pay-as-you-go tiers) to about $450 a month per location on the plans vendors publish, plus card processing and, on some, a per-order fee. Point-of-sale software typically starts around $69 a month per location with hardware and processing on top, while several ordering platforms are quote-only. The table below gives each vendor's published starting price, its commission or per-order fee, and the date the figure was read.

What the price does and doesn't include
The subscription is rarely the whole cost. When you compare, add up:
- Card processing — a percentage plus a fixed fee per card payment, usually separate from the subscription (e.g. Menufy 2.75% + $0.30, ChowNow 2.95% + $0.29, Slice 2.90% + $0.30).
- Per-order fees — a flat fee or percentage on each order on top of the plan (Owner.com 5%, Slice $2–$3, Popmenu $1, StoreHub 9% on Beep).
- Hardware and setup — POS vendors charge for terminals, printers and installation, often on a multi-year term.
- Add-on modules — loyalty, marketing, kiosk, driver app and sometimes online ordering itself are priced separately.
- Contract length — the headline price often assumes annual prepay; month-to-month can cost more, and some POS deals lock you in for 2–3 years.
How to compare software pricing without being caught out
- Price per location, per month, like for like. Convert annual-prepay prices to a monthly figure and note which currency.
- Add the per-order fee and card processing at your real order volume — a 5% per-order fee on a $249 plan can cost more than a $449 flat plan above a certain volume.
- Check whether online ordering is included or an add-on. On Toast, Lightspeed Starter, SpotOn and others it is extra.
- Read the contract term and exit clause. Month-to-month is lower risk than a 2-year POS lease.
- Confirm the figure on the vendor's own page on the day you decide; these prices were read on the dates in the tables.
Method
- Sources: each vendor's own pricing page (or an archived copy where the live page blocks automated access), as recorded in that vendor's profile with the date it was read.
- Dates: the "Checked" column is the date the profile's figure was last verified; most are September or October 2026.
- Quote-only: vendors that publish no price (Olo, Deliverect, BentoBox, enterprise tiers) are labelled quote-only, not estimated.
- No new facts: every figure comes from the dated vendor profile; this page adds none.
- Compiled: 25 October 2026. Year-stamped 2026 and refreshed when the vendor profiles are rechecked.

Frequently asked questions
How much does restaurant POS software cost in 2026?
Restaurant point-of-sale software typically starts around $69 a month per location (Lightspeed, TouchBistro and Toast's Point of Sale plan all start there in the US), with hardware, card processing and setup on top. Some vendors offer a $0-a-month tier paid through higher card rates (Toast Starter Kit, SpotOn All-In). Clover and Foodics price by bundle and region. Confirm the current figure on the vendor's page.
How much does restaurant online-ordering software cost?
Published online-ordering plans range from free (Square Online, Take App, GloriaFood) to about $450 a month per location, plus card processing and sometimes a per-order fee. Flat-fee examples: UpMenu from $49, Menufy $149–$179, ChowNow from $229. Owner.com charges $249 a month plus 5% per order (Flexible) or $499 flat. Several platforms (Olo, Deliverect, BentoBox) are quote-only.
Which restaurant ordering software is commission-free?
Many are. Menuthere, Square Online, Take App, GloriaFood, Toast Online Ordering, Lightspeed, TouchBistro, SpotOn Order, Petpooja, Foodics, OlaClick and UpMenu all advertise 0% commission on direct orders — though some charge a flat per-order fee or require a POS plan. Card processing still applies. Owner.com, Slice, Popmenu and StoreHub (Beep) charge a per-order fee or percentage.
Is online ordering included in POS software or an add-on?
It depends on the vendor. Lightspeed includes it on Essential and Premium but charges extra on Starter; Toast sells it as the Digital Storefront add-on; SpotOn and TouchBistro price it as an add-on; Clover includes it if you have a Clover POS and plan. Always check whether the headline POS price already covers ordering.
