Cake price calculator

Add up what 1 kg of cake costs you: ingredients, gas, your time and the box. Divide the total by 1 minus your margin. Example: ingredients ₹400, gas ₹40, 1.5 hours at ₹200 an hour is ₹300, box ₹50. Cost ₹790. With a 30% margin, ₹790 ÷ 0.7 is about ₹1,129, so charge ₹1,130 per kg.

Yes. Your hours are a real cost, and home bakers often leave them out. Pick an hourly rate you would accept from an employer, then enter the hours a cake takes, including baking, decorating, packing and cleaning. The calculator adds that wage to the cost and still leaves your profit on top.

Margin is the share of the price you keep. A 30% margin keeps ₹30 of every ₹100, so price = cost ÷ 0.7. Markup is added to the cost: a 30% markup means price = cost × 1.3, which keeps only about 23% of the price. This calculator uses margin.

Give each one its own price under Extras you charge on top. They show on your price list but stay out of the base price, so a customer who does not want them pays less. Fondant is per kg in per-kg mode, a topper or photo print is once per cake, and eggless is a percentage more. Set an extra to 0 to leave it off.

No. The calculator works out your price before any tax. If you charge GST, VAT or sales tax on cakes, add it on top or build it into your price. Check your local rate and rules, because they differ by country and by how much you sell.
