WhatsApp Business Platform · new rates from 1 October 2026
Meta’s new per-message rate card, in your currency and your market — and the number nobody publishes: what one order costs you once you count every message, because every message is billed.
47 markets · 16 currencies · Meta’s published figures, with nothing added
First, the vocabulary
The old 24-hour “conversation” window is gone. Every message you send now has a price, and which of four buckets it lands in decides what that price is.
Anything promotional: a weekend offer, a new-menu announcement, a win-back broadcast. The most expensive category, and the only one where you decide how many go out.
Updates about an order that already exists — confirmed, packed, out for delivery, delivered. Billed every time, with no free allowance.
Your replies inside a conversation the customer started — including the one that answers a customer’s “hi”. Priced the same as utility, and billed the same way: every message, every time.
One-time passcodes. Priced the same as utility at home, and much higher when the code crosses a border.
The price follows your customer, not you. Meta charges by where the receiving number is registered. Pick the country your diners’ phones are from below — not the country your kitchen is in.
Meta’s rate card · from 1 October 2026
Meta charges per message, and the price depends on where the phone receiving it is registered — not on where your restaurant is. Every figure below is Meta’s own, in the currency you choose.
Marketing
₹0.863
per message
Promotions, offers and broadcasts. The expensive one — and the only one where you decide how many go out.
Utility
₹0.115
per message
Order confirmations, dispatch updates, receipts. Every automatic update you send is one of these.
Service
₹0.115
per message
Your replies inside a chat the customer started. Same price as utility — and, in practice, billed just the same.
Authentication ₹0.115
International authentication ₹2.50
Utility, authentication and service all cost the same in India. Only marketing is priced differently.

The number that matters
There is no free one in the list below. From the moment a customer says “hi” to the moment you close the order, every message is billed. Untick anything you wouldn’t send and watch the cost per order move.
Your typical bill. Used for the percentage.
Used for the monthly and yearly totals.
WhatsApp cost per order
₹0.69
That is 0.14% of a ₹500 order.
Nothing in this total is free
It is simply 6 messages × ₹0.115 × 1,000 orders. No allowance is netted off, so the figure you see is the ceiling, not a best case.
Our suggestion
Ready and dispatched are the two you can stop paying for. Move them onto a Track button in the order-accepted message and the customer follows the order themselves, on a page, as often as they like — for nothing. Between accepting the order and closing it, you send them nothing at all.

6 messages
all of them billed
₹0.69 per order · ₹690 a month
What we propose
4 messages
three order updates, plus the reply that opens the chat
₹0.46 per order · ₹460 a month
What that saves you
₹230 a month
₹2,760 a year at 1,000 orders a month in India — 33% off your WhatsApp bill, and two fewer buzzes in your customer’s pocket.
WhatsApp message costs are billed by Meta, on your own WhatsApp Business account. Menuthere builds the flows that send them — the greeting, the order updates, the Track button — and takes nothing from the message price. This page exists so you know the number before you switch anything on.
