What it is
A QR code ordering system lets a guest scan the code on their table and order from their own phone. The menu opens in the browser, so there is nothing to download.
Each code opens your menu with that table already set. The order shows its table number, so the kitchen knows where it goes.
You keep the whole order. No per-order cut, unlike delivery apps. Start on the Free plan at $0.
Each order lands in your dashboard and the partner app for Android and iPhone, which rings until a member of staff accepts it.
How it works
Everything below is in the dashboard. The labels are the ones you will see on screen.
Go to Sales channel › QR ordering and create a QR code for each table. Give it the table's name or number.
Download one table's code as a PNG, or tick several and download an Excel sheet with every code. Print them at a size guests can scan from their seat.
The guest scans the code, your menu opens with the table already set, and they place the order. No app, on Android or iPhone.
It arrives in your dashboard and partner app with the table number, and rings until accepted. The kitchen ticket can print automatically with kitchen printing.
Compare
Delivery apps charge a cut of every order. A QR code ordering system on your own site charges nothing per order. Each figure below has a source, read on the date shown.
| Compare | Delivery apps | Menuthere QR ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Commission per order | About 15% to 30% of the order. iFood Brazil takes 23% when it delivers; HungerStation in Saudi Arabia charges roughly 15% to 25%; Qatar caps a delivering app at 19% by law. | 0% commission on every plan. No per-order fee. |
| Who owns the customer | The app keeps the customer's details. | Your customer, your order, your data. |
| Monthly cost | Often a monthly fee on top of commission (iFood Brazil: R$110 to R$150 in months you pass R$1,800 in sales). | $0 on the Free plan, up to 50 orders a month. Lite is $17 a month for unlimited orders. |
| Guest installs an app | Yes, to order through the app. | No. The menu opens in the phone's browser when they scan. |
| Table number on the order | Not built for dine-in at a table. | Every order shows its table. Second rounds join the open bill. |
Delivery-app figures: iFood Brazil (read 20 October 2026), HungerStation Saudi Arabia (Flow, April 2026) and Qatar's legal cap (Committee Decision No. 3 of 2020). See the delivery-app commission data for your market.
Built for dine-in
When the same guest orders again while their first order is open, the new items join that order and bill.
Turn on the geo-lock and checkout asks for the guest's location, accepting orders only near your restaurant.
A table shows Occupied while its order is being served, and Free when it is clear. You never mark tables by hand.
A table's QR can add to or take off each item's price, for a service charge or a cheaper outdoor table.
Make a table's code open the menu for reading only, with no cart, where you want guests to order at the counter.
Print the kitchen ticket and the bill separately, from the browser or the desktop print app for thermal printers.
Paying
On the Free plan, guests can pay your staff at the table, pay at the counter, pay on pickup, or use your own payment link or bank details. There is no per-order fee to Menuthere.
From Lite ($17 a month), guests can pay online by card or UPI from their phone, on your own Stripe account where Stripe opens accounts, or Razorpay or Easebuzz in India. A local payment gateway set up for you comes with Pro ($39 a month).
See the full breakdown on the pricing page.
