Worth knowing
Restaurants told The Business Standard in 2021 that commission was often worked out on the VAT-inclusive price.
foodpanda's managing director said in 2021 that it had started in Bangladesh at 10–12% and had to raise its rates to break even.
The Bangladesh Restaurant Owners' Association called in 2021 for a single 10% cap on delivery commission.
Uber agreed in July 2026 to buy Delivery Hero, foodpanda's parent company, including foodpanda Bangladesh. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2027.
