Uber Eats charges restaurants in Switzerland 32% of the order when its couriers deliver (35% on orders from Uber One members), 15% when you deliver yourself (13% on Uber One orders) and 15% on pickup, plus a one-off activation fee of CHF 600. Card processing is included, and its terms say no VAT is added to its fees.

Card processing
Included in the commission. Uber Eats lists payment processing in every plan, with no separate card fee.
Activation fee
CHF 600, once. It covers a tablet, a printer, menu set-up, professional photos, a window sticker, a welcome pack and a training call; opting out of items lowers it.
Lost or damaged tablet
CHF 200 if a device Uber lends you is lost, stolen, returned late or damaged, unless you can show the loss was smaller.

Worth knowing
Uber Eats works out its percentage on the item price including VAT.
Under Switzerland's VAT rules for digital platforms (Article 20a of the VAT Act), Uber Eats is treated as the seller of the food for VAT purposes and pays the VAT on it to the Federal Tax Administration. Its terms say its service fees to restaurants are therefore not subject to VAT.
