Home bakers can cost a bake by entering the whole tray and the number of pieces it makes: the calculator divides the batch to give the cost of one piece. It opens with a tray of 16 chocolate brownies in rupees, with the chocolate, butter, eggs, flour, walnuts and the boxes they go out in. Change each pack to the size and price you buy and set your price per piece. You see the cost of one brownie, what is left from the price, and a recipe card to keep with your baking notes.

Cost the tray, count what you sell
Enter the whole batch, then set portions to the pieces you actually sell. If you trim the edges of a tray or a cookie or two breaks, leave them out of the count. The cost of the ones you sell goes up a little, and that is the true cost.

Add each one as pieces: the box, the butter paper, the ribbon, the sticker with your name. For a gift box of four, enter four pieces of what goes in it and the box once per four portions, as the example does.
