GST on the commission
Yes. 18% GST is charged on the commission itself, not on the order value, so a 25% commission really costs 29.5%. Restaurants on the 5% GST rate can't claim input tax credit, so for most it's a real cost.

Figures are estimates from the numbers you enter. Swiggy agreements differ by plan, location and volume, and platforms change their fees, so your Swiggy payout statement is the source of truth. Worth knowing
Exclusivity. A Competition Commission of India investigation, reported in November 2024, found Swiggy promised business growth to restaurants that listed only on Swiggy. There is no cap on commission.
Business Standard reported in July 2026 that total deductions on an order run from 25% to more than 35%, and sometimes past 40%. The same month, restaurant associations in Bengaluru threatened to stop taking Zomato and Swiggy orders over commissions, ad fees and payout deductions.
