foodora doesn't publish its commission in Austria. It told the press in April 2024 that it charges at most 30% of the order when its couriers deliver, and less when restaurants deliver themselves. An open letter from more than 60 Viennese restaurants the same month said many pay 30% to 35%.

Worth knowing
foodora, formerly Mjam, holds about 50–60% of Austria's delivery market and is strongest in Vienna, according to Austria's competition authority (BWB).
In August 2026 the BWB closed its inquiry into delivery platforms and opened an investigation into suspected abuse of a dominant position; foodora confirmed to the APA news agency that proceedings had been opened. The BWB reported exclusivity deals giving restaurants better terms for staying off rival apps, a jump in foodora's discount campaigns when Wolt entered Vienna, narrow best-price clauses in one platform's contracts and penalty fees of up to €10 in one platform's terms.
Uber agreed in July 2026 to buy Delivery Hero, foodora's parent company. Under the deal, foodora's business in Austria would go to the investment firm SSW Partners rather than to Uber; closing is expected in the second half of 2027.
