foodpanda doesn't publish its commission in Hong Kong; each restaurant picks a plan when it applies, and the rate is set in its contract. Sing Tao Daily reported in September 2026 that foodpanda takes 25% to 28% of the order on delivery and 20% to 25% on pickup, though several restaurants told East Week the same month that they pay 33% on pickup.

Worth knowing
Competition Commission. Under commitments in force from 29 December 2023 for three years, foodpanda can't penalise a restaurant for switching from exclusive to non-exclusive terms, an exclusive restaurant may also use platforms with 10% of the market or less, and restaurants may charge less on their own channels and on other apps. Taking delivery can't oblige an exclusive restaurant to take pickup too. There is no cap on commission.
Restaurants that list only on foodpanda pay a lower commission, the Competition Commission found. In 2022, HKFP reported 20% to 25% for exclusive restaurants and up to 30% to 35% for the rest.
In April 2025, a restaurant told The Collective that foodpanda took over 30% of each order. foodpanda said restaurants moving over from Deliveroo would keep the rate they paid there, which was 32% for one of them.
Deliveroo left Hong Kong on 7 April 2025, selling some of its assets to foodpanda, which leaves Keeta and foodpanda as the two big apps. Keeta, which Meituan launched in May 2023, had 44% of orders by March 2024, ahead of foodpanda (35%) and Deliveroo (21%), according to Measurable AI data reported by HKFP.
Uber agreed in July 2026 to buy Delivery Hero, foodpanda's parent company, and foodpanda Hong Kong is among the businesses it would take over. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2027.
Hong Kong has no VAT or sales tax, so nothing is added to the commission.
