Is UPI still free for restaurants after 15 October 2026?

Mostly. UPI payments up to ₹2,000 stay free. From 15 October 2026 a 0.4% charge applies to merchant payments above ₹2,000, capped at ₹300.
- Up to ₹2,000: no charge.
- Above ₹2,000: 0.4%, capped at ₹300 per payment.
- Small merchants: those receiving up to ₹1 lakh a month on a UPI QR into their own account stay at zero.
- Above ₹1 lakh a month for 3 months in a row, you move to the standard category.
- Ask your bank or gateway which category you are in.
Customers pay you, not the platform
Online and UPI payments on your orders go to your own gateway account, and Menuthere takes no commission on them.
