Demae-can charges restaurants in Japan 35% of the order when its riders deliver: a 10% service fee plus a 25% delivery fee. If you deliver yourself, it's the 10% service fee only. Cashless orders carry a payment fee of up to 3%, and 10% consumption tax is added to the commission.

Consumption tax on the commission
Yes. Demae-can's terms give its fee rates before consumption tax, so 10% is added: 35% becomes 38.5%. The fees are worked out on your sales excluding the consumption tax customers pay, and the payment fee already includes tax.
Set-up and monthly fee
None. Demae-can lists no initial fee and no fixed monthly fee.
Tablet
Optional rental: 2,000 yen a month plus tax (2,200 yen with tax) for an LTE tablet.
Ads
Optional performance-based ads, from 10% of the order.
Payouts
Monthly: Demae-can nets its fees against your sales. You pay the bank transfer fee, which is free at SMBC.

New restaurants that list every item at in-store prices and use Demae-can's riders pay 0% commission, with free ads and a free tablet, for their first three months (virtual restaurants excluded). Demae-can says the campaign can end without notice.
