Does a WhatsApp short link hide my restaurant's phone number?

It hides your number in the link only. A short link is a random code, while a classic wa.me link shows your number in the web address.

• Meta says short links remove the need to embed messages in the URL and mask the phone number.
• Once a customer opens the chat, they are messaging your number, so the number is still visible there.
• Use a short link on printed menus if you do not want the number in the address.
• A wa.me link is simpler, but the message and number sit in the address.
