For US restaurants
Delivery apps keep 15% to 30% of an order. Menuthere keeps 0%. Customers order on your own website or QR code, and the only per-order cost is Stripe's card fee of 2.9% + 30¢ when they pay online.
50 orders a month free. 0% commission on every plan. Month to month.

What you get
Menuthere handles the orders you take yourself. It does not send you new customers, and it does not bring DoorDash or Uber Eats orders into the dashboard. Keep the apps if you want to be found there.
It sits on a menuthere.com link, or on your own domain from Lite. Customers open it in the phone's browser. There is no app to download.
Takeaway, delivery and dine-in table ordering are on every plan. See QR table ordering and QR code menus.
Unlimited items, photos, sizes and add-ons on every plan. Import your menu from a photo, PDF, Instagram or Google link. Mark items out of stock.
Orders land in the dashboard and in the partner app for Android and iPhone. Turn on auto-accept, add unlimited staff logins, and print bills and kitchen tickets from the dashboard's device.
Lite and Pro take cards on your own Stripe account. Every plan takes cash or pay on pickup. The costs are in the table further down.
No per-order fee and no contract. What that term means is in our commission-free guide.
What the apps charge
Each app publishes its plans. Here they are side by side. Each app's own pricing page is the source, and rates change, so check the date.
| App | Delivery by the app | Pickup | Card processing | Detail |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DoorDash | Basic 15%, Plus 25%, Premier 30% | 6%. Pickup menu prices must match in-store prices. | Included | DoorDash commission in the US |
| Uber Eats | Lite 20%, Plus 25% (30% on Uber One orders), Premium 30%. 15% if you deliver yourself. | 7%. 10% if pickup prices differ from in-store prices. | Included. The Lite plan in New York City adds 3%. | Uber Eats commission in the US |
| Grubhub | Basic 15%, Plus 25%, All-access 30% with Grubhub drivers. That is a marketing commission of 5%, 15% or 20% plus delivery from 10%. | The marketing commission only: 5%, 15% or 20%. | Extra. Grubhub's 2024 guide put it at 3.05% + $0.30. | Grubhub commission in the US |
DoorDash's plans are for restaurants with 75 or fewer US locations. Uber raised Lite from 15% to 20% and pickup from 6% to 7% on 11 March 2026. Uber Eats also charges $0.99 when a customer redeems one of your offers, takes refunds for missing or wrong items from your payouts, and rents a tablet from $4.99 a week. DoorDash charges error charges of 25% to 100% of the item price plus tax, and its tablet is $6 a week after the trial. Illustrative arithmetic from the published rates, not a result: on a $30 order on a 25% plan the app keeps $7.50. On Grubhub Plus the processing adds about $1.22, about $8.72 in all. The same $30 order paid by card on your own Stripe account costs $1.17 in card fees (2.9% x $30 + $0.30), before any plan price. Rates read on 25 September 2026, and the Uber Eats page again on 1 October 2026.
City caps
A few cities limit what apps can charge restaurants. Most US cities set no cap. Uber Eats lists a 15% Lite rate in cities that regulate delivery fees, among them New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Washington DC and Minneapolis. Ask your city hall if yours is not listed here.
| Place | Cap | Source |
|---|---|---|
| New York City | 15% for delivery, 5% for basic service and 3% for transactions. An optional enhanced service can add up to 20% more. The four ceilings add up to at most 43% (our arithmetic from the law text). Fee changes need 30 days' notice. A platform must let a restaurant put its own menus or coupons in any online order. | Local Law 79 of 2025 |
| San Francisco | 15% per order. A platform may charge more if it also offers every covered restaurant a core delivery option at 15% or less. Check whether your restaurant is covered. | Police Code |
| Seattle | 15% for delivery inside city limits. A restaurant can agree to pay more only for services beyond delivery, and a 15% package must always be offered. | Seattle chapter 7.30 |
| Portland, Oregon | 15% for delivery and 4% for pickup, from 1 March 2023. | Ordinance 191126 |
| Washington, DC | 15% per online order with delivery and 5% where the platform does not deliver, from 10 March 2023. | Fair Meals Delivery Act |
A capped 15% is still a cost. After the 2020 caps, DoorDash added "regulatory response fees" of $1 to $2.50 an order for customers in 57 of the 68 capped places NBC News checked (NBC News, 28 March 2021). That is a past report, not a current rate. For how commission works in other places, see what delivery apps charge.
What a direct order costs
The plan price is monthly. Stripe's fee comes on top of each card payment, and Menuthere adds nothing to it.
| Cost | What you pay | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Commission | 0% on every plan | No per-order fee. Month to month, no contract. |
| Free plan | $0 | 50 orders a month. After that the menu turns view-only until the 1st or you upgrade. Cash, pay on pickup, your own payment link or bank details. An "Ordering by Menuthere" badge shows on the menu. |
| Lite plan | $9 a month | Unlimited orders, your own domain, all themes, no badge, Stripe card payments, scheduled orders and pre-orders, delivery areas drawn on a map, coupons. 7-day free trial. |
| Pro plan | $39 a month | Everything in Lite plus WhatsApp Business API on your own number, loyalty points and your own riders app. Extra outlets are $39 a month each. 7-day free trial. Enterprise is priced per account and adds a branded customer app. See pricing. |
| Stripe card fee | 2.9% + 30¢ per successful domestic card payment | Plus 0.5% for manually entered cards, 1.5% for international cards and 1% if currency conversion is needed. No setup, monthly or hidden fees. $15 per dispute. |
| Stripe payouts | Free on the standard schedule | Cards settle in 2 business days once payouts are running. The first payout is typically 7 to 14 days after the first live payment. |
| How Stripe connects | Your account, your money | You connect your own Stripe account in Settings. Customers pay on Stripe's hosted Checkout page. The money goes from Stripe to your bank and never through Menuthere. Menuthere does not offer Square, PayPal or Venmo checkout. |
| Example: 100 orders of $30 | $126 a month against $750 | Illustrative arithmetic, not a forecast. 100 orders of $30 is $3,000. A 25% marketplace plan keeps $750. The same 100 orders paid by card on Stripe cost $117 in card fees, plus $9 for Lite, so $126. The gap is $624. Lite pays for itself when 25% commission on your direct orders would reach $9, which is $36 of orders. |
| Delivery | You deliver, or hire a courier | Menuthere does not supply drivers and has no Uber Direct or DoorDash Drive booking. Free has basic delivery zones and fees. Lite draws delivery areas on a map with fees by distance. For reference only, Uber Direct starts at $7.99 a delivery. |
| Who pays Stripe's fee | You do, unless you add a surcharge | Visa's rules let US merchants in most states add a surcharge on credit cards only, never debit or prepaid. It is capped at the lower of your cost or 3%, needs 30 days' notice to your acquirer, and state law applies on top. Menuthere has no card-surcharge setting. |
Prices are in US dollars. Stripe's rates were read on 30 September 2026 on stripe.com/pricing.
US rules
This is a short guide with sources, not legal advice. Check your own contract and your state's rules.
The rule applies to a chain of 20 or more locations under the same name with substantially the same menu. FDA's May 2018 guidance (non-binding) says covered chains show calories on online menus where customers can order. A single restaurant or a smaller chain is not covered unless it registers with FDA (Form FDA 3757). Menuthere has no calorie field or compliance check. A chain that needs calories shown can write them into each item's name or description and check placement and type size against the rule, or use a system built for chains.
California SB 68 (from 1 July 2026) requires a written allergen notice on menu items for food facilities covered by the federal chain rule. Virginia (from 1 July 2026) requires a food allergy notice on menus, online menus included, and a way for customers to state an allergy. Massachusetts requires a set allergy notice on menus, website menus included. Menuthere shows your menu as you write it, so the notice text goes into the menu yourself.
Uber Eats' US terms (2 June 2026) say you may not list an item higher on its app than on a competing app. DoorDash weighs price consistency in visibility and needs matching prices for its 6% pickup rate. New York City bars a platform from making same prices a condition of service. California bars a platform from charging a customer more than the price you posted there. Read your agreement before you price your own site.
Uber Eats' US FAQ answers "Can I still use Uber Eats if my restaurant currently uses another delivery platform?" with "Yes." New York City requires platforms to allow your menus and coupons in orders. The Uber US terms we read have no clause on flyers or inserts. Our guide on adding your own ordering link to Google covers a first step.
A customer who orders from your Menuthere site is your customer. Their name, phone and history are in your dashboard, and Lite adds a customer list export. Uber Eats lets a customer choose to share name, email and order history, and marketing needs an opt-in. A 2021 New York City data-sharing law was held unconstitutional by the 2nd US Circuit in August 2026, per Reuters. More in who owns the customer data.
A Google Business Profile can carry up to 10 food-ordering links, and one can be marked "Business preferred". Third-party providers must remove their link within 5 business days of a request. Google's ordering help pages mention no fee for this.

Figures read on 30 September 2026 (DoorDash and Uber tools between 25 and 30 September). Prices change, so use each link. Where Menuthere is not the fit: you already run Toast, Square or Clover and want orders inside that POS, since Menuthere has no integration with them. You need a tip line at checkout, which Menuthere does not have. You run 20 or more locations under one name and need calorie labelling built in. GloriaFood ends on 30 April 2027, and our GloriaFood alternative page covers a move. For a ranked list, see best online ordering systems in the US.
Set up
What you do not get: a marketplace of strangers, DoorDash, Uber Eats or Grubhub orders in the dashboard, a Toast, Square or Clover POS integration, a tip line at checkout, US sales tax by state (you set one flat tax percentage), Uber Direct or DoorDash Drive booking, a calorie tool, or a customer app under your own name below Enterprise.
Import from a photo, PDF, Instagram or Google link, then fix prices, photos, sizes and add-ons.
Set your delivery areas and fees. Basic zones are on Free, and Lite draws areas on a map. If you run a truck or a ghost kitchen, see food trucks and cloud kitchens.
Put them on tables, bags, bills and the window. A second order from the same table joins the open bill. The steps are in how to set up QR table ordering.
Take cash and pay on pickup on any plan. Connect your own Stripe account on Lite for card payments.
New orders ring on your phone until you accept. You can also turn on auto-accept and print kitchen tickets.
Put it first on your Google profile, on bags and on bills, after you check the rules in the US rules section above.
