Digital menu
A digital menu is your menu on your customers' phones. Upload a photo or PDF of the menu you already have, get a QR code and a link, and change any price or dish whenever you like.
Find your restaurant on Google to start. Free plan, $0, and 0% commission on every plan.

How it works
Start from the menu you already have. No designer is needed.
Upload a photo or PDF of your menu, or paste an Instagram or Google link. AI import turns it into items and prices. It saves the typing, not the checking, so read every price before you print a code. You get unlimited menu items, photos, sizes and add-ons, in any currency.
Add photos, sizes and add-ons. Mark an item out of stock when it runs out. In Toast's 2024 survey of 850 US adults, 66% said they prefer menus with photos.
The Free plan gives you a website on a Menuthere link and QR codes to print, including table QR codes you download from the dashboard. On Lite you can use your own domain, every theme and brand colour, and a menu translated into other languages for you.
Print the QR code for tables and the counter. Put the link in your Google listing, your Instagram bio and WhatsApp. How to share your menu on WhatsApp.

Paper still has fans. In the US, Ipsos (21 July 2025) found 65% now use QR menus and 58% would like to go back to paper menus. Use the digital menu as your main menu and keep a few printed copies for guests who ask.
| Printed menu | PDF behind a QR code | Digital menu on Menuthere | |

| Change a price | Reprint | Edit the file and upload it again | Edit once. Every QR code and link shows it when you save |
| Mark a dish sold out | Reprint or cross it out by hand | Upload the file again | Mark the item out of stock in the dashboard |
| Reading it on a phone | Not applicable | Often needs pinching and zooming | A menu page made for a phone screen |
| Photos, sizes and add-ons | Whatever you print | Only what is in the file | On every item, on every plan |
| Guests can order from it | No | No | Yes: takeaway, delivery and dine-in table orders |
| Guests without a phone | Works | Needs a phone | Needs a phone, so keep a few printed copies |
Survey figures are from US diners. Toast's 2024 survey of 850 US adults found 81% prefer a physical menu. The PDF column follows Menuviel's list of PDF weaknesses, which is a vendor blog.
Rules
A QR or online menu counts as a menu. Every official text we read treats it that way and none exempts it. Menuthere shows your menu exactly as you write it, so write the veg or non-veg mark and the allergens into each item yourself. What a restaurant must show to sell on WhatsApp in India covers the same rules for chat ordering.
| Where | What the rule says |
|---|---|
| India: allergens and veg mark | Show allergen information and the veg or non-veg mark against each food item on menu cards or boards. Allergens may be shown as simple symbols (FSSAI, Regulation 9(2)). |
| India: calories | Calories per serving, and the 2,000 kcal line, apply only to outlets with a Central licence or 10 or more locations (FSSAI, Regulation 9(1)). |
| India: prices | The menu price should be the final price, exclusive only of taxes. No default LPG or gas charges (CCPA advisory, 25 March 2026). A service charge cannot be added by default and must be voluntary (CCPA, 4 July 2022, upheld by the Delhi High Court on 28 March 2025). |
| UK: allergens | Tell guests if a dish contains any of the 14 listed allergens, in writing on the menu or by word of mouth with a clearly visible notice saying how to ask. |
| UK: prices and calories | CMA guidance counts a menu opened by scanning a QR code as an invitation to purchase, so mandatory charges belong in the headline price. In England, businesses with 250 or more employees must show calories, online menus included. |
| UAE | Advertised prices must include VAT (Federal Decree-Law 8 of 2017, Article 38). Dubai Municipality's 2020 calorie guide covers menus in print, digital or online. |
| US | Chains of 20 or more locations show calories, and that covers menus on the Internet (21 CFR 101.11). From 1 July 2026 California requires allergen notices on each item for covered chains. A QR code to a digital menu is allowed if guests who cannot use it get an alternative (SB 68). |
Habits that follow: show the price guests will pay, keep your digital, printed and delivery-app menus the same, and write allergens where guests look. This is general information, not legal advice. Check with your local authority.

More than a menu
The link and QR codes that show your menu can take orders too. 600+ restaurants run their own ordering website on Menuthere.
The same menu link and QR codes take takeaway, delivery and dine-in table orders. Customers get a live order-status page.
Orders arrive in your dashboard and in the partner app for Android and iPhone, which rings until an order is accepted. Turn on auto-accept if you like. Staff logins are unlimited.
The Free plan takes cash, pay on pickup, your own payment link or bank details. Lite adds online payments through your own Stripe account where Stripe is available, or Razorpay or Easebuzz in India.
On Free, customers can chat with you on WhatsApp and you get a copy of each order on your number. On Pro, customers send "Hi" to your own number and get an Order Now button that opens the menu. More on WhatsApp ordering.
Menuthere can check that a diner is at the restaurant before a table QR order goes through. It is a setting in the dashboard. A second order from the same table is added to the open order and bill. More on table ordering.
Every plan charges 0% commission and no per-order fee. Read about commission-free ordering, or see what Zomato takes in India.
