Can I charge customers a delivery fee or packaging charge on Zomato?
Updated 4 October 2026
You can charge for packaging, but the contract bars a delivery fee on orders you don't deliver yourself. Customers can be charged only for food, beverages and packaging.
- Packaging: allowed. It is one of the three things the contract lets you charge the customer for.
- Delivery fee: not allowed when Zomato's delivery partners deliver the order, and neither is a Payment Mechanism Fee.
- Delivering orders yourself? The contract's list of allowed charges still has no delivery fee, so confirm with your Zomato account manager first.
- Packaged goods with a printed MRP can't be sold above the MRP.
- What Zomato deducts from you per order is on Zomato commission in India.
Set your own fees on direct orders
On orders from your own Menuthere ordering page you choose your delivery fee and free-delivery rules, and keep every order at 0% commission.
