Does WhatsApp ordering work for dine-in and takeaway too?
Updated 30 September 2026
Yes. WhatsApp only carries the chat, so the same flow works for takeaway and dine-in. For dine-in, put a QR code on each table that fills in the table number.
- Takeaway: the customer sends the order and you confirm the total and a pickup time. No address is needed.
- Dine-in: put a QR code on each table. A WhatsApp link can pre-fill the message (“Table 5”), so the kitchen knows where to serve.
- WhatsApp suggests its Business app QR code for table tents. On the API, one number can have up to 2,000 QR codes and short links.
- Ask “Dine-in, takeaway or delivery?” in your first reply. On the API, a 3-button reply covers all three.
One ordering page for every order type
Menuthere takes takeaway, delivery and dine-in orders on one ordering page. Put a QR code on each table, and every order lands in your dashboard and partner app, which rings until you accept it.
