WhatsApp ordering or Zomato and Swiggy: which is better?
Updated 30 September 2026
Use both. Zomato and Swiggy bring new customers but take a commission on each order. WhatsApp suits customers who already know you: the Business app is free, and on the API Meta charges a small fee per message.
- Zomato and Swiggy: a marketplace where new customers find you. You pay a commission on each order.
- WhatsApp: your own number. Customers reach you from your link, QR code or Google listing, so you deal with them directly.
- WhatsApp cost: the Business app is free. On the API, Meta charges ₹0.115 per order update in India; a provider may add a fee.
- Limit: WhatsApp is not a marketplace, so it won't find you new customers. Your link, QR code, Google listing or click-to-WhatsApp ads bring them in.
- You can use both. Keep the delivery apps for new customers, and give regulars your WhatsApp number or ordering link.
