Can I take orders on WhatsApp and Zomato at the same time?
Updated 30 September 2026
Yes. Your WhatsApp number is your own ordering channel and can run next to Zomato. What your Zomato agreement allows is between you and Zomato, so check it.
- Your own chat: a WhatsApp order comes to your own number, so you talk to the customer directly.
- Cost: orders you take yourself don't go through Zomato. The Business app is free; the API charges Meta's per-message fee.
- Offers later: you can reply to anyone who messages you, but sending offers needs their opt-in. Don't treat a first message as opt-in.
- One list: if WhatsApp and Zomato orders reach the kitchen in different places, one is easy to miss.
