What fees does Zomato charge restaurants besides commission?
Updated 5 October 2026
Besides the service fee (formerly commission), Zomato's contract lists a payment mechanism fee, a one-time sign-up fee, charges for refunds you cause and support costs. The rates are set in your enrolment form, not published.
- Payment mechanism fee: a percentage of the order value, including taxes.
- Refund charges: for refunds caused by rejected or timed-out orders, delays, poor food or packaging, or missing or wrong items.
- Ads are billed separately, and discounts you run in Promotions or Zomato Gold are paid by you.
- Zomato can change any fee after giving you 7 days' notice.
- Zomato can also take money you owe any Zomato group company out of your payout.
