How do I get a customer's location on WhatsApp?
Updated 30 September 2026
Ask the customer to send their location in the chat, plus a landmark or door number. On the API you can also send a button that asks for it.
- Put the request in your greeting message or a saved quick reply, so every delivery order starts with location and landmark.
- API: WhatsApp has a message with a “Send location” button, plus an address request that Meta added for India and Singapore.
- Live location is not supported on linked devices, so check those chats on the phone if a customer shares a live pin.
- Repeat the address in your order confirmation. It catches a wrong pin or a missing flat number before the rider leaves.
Get the delivery address without the chat
Customers pick their address on a map or use their current location at checkout, so nobody types directions in a chat. Delivery areas drawn on a map keep orders within your range.
