How do I send a UPI payment link on WhatsApp?
Updated 30 September 2026
Paste a payment link from your payment gateway into the chat. With the WhatsApp Business API in India you can instead send an order message that lets the customer pay with UPI inside WhatsApp.
- Free app: any link works in a chat, so paste one from your payment gateway. The customer pays on the gateway's page.
- API in India: you send an order message; the customer taps Review order, then Pay now, and enters their UPI PIN.
- Direct set-up works with Razorpay, PayU, Billdesk and Zaakpay. Any gateway that supports UPI Intent can also be used.
- The order message is not a tax invoice. You still issue your own bill.
- Never ask customers to type card or bank account numbers into the chat.
Customers pay by UPI at checkout
On Menuthere, customers order and pay by UPI or card at checkout, and the payment goes to your own Razorpay or Easebuzz account. You don't paste a payment link into every chat.
