How do I avoid fake payment screenshots?
Updated 30 September 2026
Never release an order on a screenshot. Check that the money has reached your own bank, UPI or payment gateway app, or use a payment link so the gateway confirms it.
- A screenshot is only a picture. Your bank, UPI app or gateway dashboard is what shows that money has arrived.
- Match the amount and the payment reference in your app with the order before you hand it over.
- With a payment link, the gateway reports the status. In India the WhatsApp Payments API also reports it through the gateway's webhook notifications.
- For big or custom orders, take a deposit or full payment before you start cooking.
- Never ask for card numbers in the chat. WhatsApp's policy bans asking for full card or bank account numbers.
No more screenshots to check
Customers pay online on your Menuthere page, straight into your own gateway account: Stripe where available, Razorpay or Easebuzz in India. Your gateway records each payment, so there is no screenshot to check.
