How do I send birthday offers on WhatsApp?

Ask for the birthday when a customer agrees to offers, then send the offer on the day: in their chat in the Business app, or as an approved marketing template on the API.
- A birthday offer is promotional, so it counts as a marketing message and needs the customer's opt-in first.
- Opt-in must comply with local law. Tell customers why you are asking for their birthday.
- Business app: message the customer in their own chat, or use a broadcast list. Broadcasts reach only people who saved your number.
- API: outside the 24-hour reply window you can only send an approved marketing template. It costs ₹0.8631 per delivered message in India.
Reward regulars with loyalty points and offers
