How much does an online ordering system cost?
By the Menuthere editorial team · Updated
An online ordering system can start at $0. With Menuthere you start on the Free plan at $0 with 0% commission and 50 orders a month, then Lite at $17/month and Pro at $39/month for unlimited orders. Unlike delivery apps that take 15% to 25% of every order, this fee is flat and does not grow with your sales. Updated October 2026.
- The Free plan is $0 and includes your menu, website, QR codes and 50 orders a month at 0% commission.
- Lite at $17/month adds your own domain, online payments, removes the Menuthere badge and gives unlimited orders.
- Pro at $39/month adds WhatsApp on your own number, a loyalty card and your own riders.
- Delivery apps take a cut of every order (15%–25% in Saudi Arabia); a flat fee stays the same however much you sell.
- 14-day free trial on Lite and Pro; Branded App is $99/month for your own app on both stores.
Start at zero cost and keep the full value of each order
Menuthere gives you an ordering website, QR menu and dashboard with 0% commission on every order, built from a photo of your menu. Start free and upgrade only when you need your own domain or automation — never a cut of any order.
How much does an online ordering system really cost?
It depends on what you need. A digital menu, website and QR codes are free on Menuthere's Free plan at 0% commission, including 50 orders a month. As you grow you move to Lite at $17/month (own domain, online payments, unlimited orders) or Pro at $39/month (WhatsApp on your number, loyalty, your riders). A branded app under your name is $99/month. Check the pricing page for current figures.
| Plan | Price | Key inclusions |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Menu, website, QR, 50 orders/mo, 0% commission |
| Lite | $17/mo | Own domain, online payments, unlimited orders |
| Pro | $39/mo | WhatsApp on your number, loyalty, your riders |
| Branded App | $99/mo | Your own app on Android and iOS |
Is a flat fee cheaper than app commission?
Usually yes as you grow. Delivery apps in Saudi Arabia take about 15%–25% of each order, so they cost more the more you sell. A flat fee stays the same whether you take 10 orders or 1,000. For example, at 300 orders averaging SAR 60 and a 20% rate, you pay the app about SAR 3,600 a month, while a Pro plan stays at $39. Card gateway fees are separate and go to the gateway.
- Commission = a cut of every order, rising as you grow.
- A flat fee = one monthly amount, staying the same.
- On the Free plan there is no fee up to 50 orders a month.
Is an ordering system the same cost as a cashier (POS)?
No, they are different things. A cashier (POS) such as Foodics starts around SAR 423 a month and adds hardware, inventory and ZATCA e-invoicing from the till. An online ordering system's job is to take direct orders through your site, QR and WhatsApp at 0% commission. Many owners use both: a cashier in-store and Menuthere for direct orders. Weigh them in a cashier or an ordering system.
Who this is a good fit for
- A Gulf restaurant, café, bakery or cloud kitchen that wants direct orders on a low, fixed monthly cost.
- Owners who want to start free and upgrade only when features pay for themselves.
- Those who want to avoid the rising commission cut of delivery apps.
Who this is not for
- Owners who need a full in-store cashier (POS) with inventory and ZATCA e-invoicing from the till: Foodics or a ZATCA-approved POS fits better.
- A brand-new place with no customers that needs the app marketplace for discovery at first.
Common follow-up questions
