For Danish restaurants and takeaways
An online ordering system lets customers order and pay on your own website, so you keep the order and the customer. Menuthere gives restaurants, takeaways and cafés in Denmark one menu for collection, delivery and table orders, with prices in Danish krone and 0% commission on every plan.
Free plan: 50 orders a month and 0% commission. Paid plans from US$17 a month. Find your restaurant on Google to start.

What it does
It has two halves. The customer side is a mobile-friendly menu on your own link or domain: customers pick dishes, sizes and extras, choose collection or delivery, and pay by card, MobilePay or on collection. The kitchen side is where orders land, on a dashboard, a phone app and a kitchen printer, so staff can accept, cook and mark the order ready.
The difference from Wolt or Uber Eats is who owns the customer. On an app, the platform keeps the relationship and takes a share of every order, plus 25% moms on that share. On your own system, the customer orders from you and you see their name and number. Most Danish owners keep the apps for new customers and use their own page for regulars.
What the apps charge
Published or reported rates, checked in September 2026. Uber Eats adds 25% moms to its fee. Just Eat (just-eat.dk) closed its Danish operations on 30 April 2026 after 25 years and pointed its customers to Uber Eats, so Uber Eats and Wolt are now the two main platforms. We found no legal cap on delivery-app commission in Denmark.
| Platform | They deliver | You deliver or collection | Joining fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uber Eats | 30% (32% on Uber One orders) | 14% when you deliver, 14% on pickup | 2,500 kr activation fee, once |
| Wolt | About 30% (reported; not published) | Not published | Set in your agreement |
Uber Eats includes card processing in its commission and works out its percentage on the item price including VAT. Wolt doesn't publish its commission in Denmark; each restaurant's rate is set in its agreement, and the roughly 30% figure is what Danish media reported in 2025. Denmark's Competition Council ruled in August 2026 that Wolt had abused a dominant position in its restaurant terms. Full breakdowns: Uber Eats commission in Denmark and Wolt commission in Denmark.
Worked example
A Copenhagen takeaway does 300 orders a month at an average of 250 kr: 75,000 kr in sales. Here is what each channel costs in a month and a year. Moms on the Uber Eats fee is worked out at 25%.
| Channel | Fee | Moms on fee (25%) | Total a month | A year |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Uber Eats delivers (30%) | 22,500 kr | 5,625 kr | 28,125 kr | 337,500 kr |
| Uber Eats, you deliver or pickup (14%) | 10,500 kr | 2,625 kr | 13,125 kr | 157,500 kr |
| Wolt delivers (about 30%, reported) | 22,500 kr | Per your agreement | about 22,500 kr + moms | about 270,000 kr + moms |
| Your own system (Menuthere Lite + Stripe standard EEA cards) | US$17 plan + 1,665 kr card fees | No commission, so no moms on commission | about 1,665 kr + US$17 | about 19,980 kr + US$204 (or US$170 on yearly billing) |
Stripe's standard rate for EEA cards is 1.5% + 1.80 kr, so a 250 kr order costs 5.55 kr, or 1,665 kr across 300 orders. If you're VAT-registered you can usually reclaim the moms on app fees, but the commission itself is gone.
Danish moms
Denmark has a single VAT rate (moms) of 25% on nearly everything, including restaurant food, takeaway food and drink, and the fees apps charge you. There is no reduced rate for food, so there's nothing to split dish by dish. Menuthere shows prices including VAT and records the 25% inside each line.
| Line | Price (VAT included) | VAT rate | VAT inside the price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 × burger meal (hot) | 200.00 kr | 25% | 40.00 kr |
| 2 × soft drink | 30.00 kr | 25% | 6.00 kr |
| Delivery fee | 20.00 kr | 25% | 4.00 kr |
| Total | 250.00 kr | 25% | 50.00 kr |
Because Denmark has one rate, set your store rate to 25%, mark dishes Tax Inclusive, and every dish and drink carries the same moms. The VAT inside a price including 25% VAT is the price × 25 ÷ 125 (one fifth). Menuthere doesn't add VAT to the delivery fee line, so set your delivery fee as a VAT-inclusive amount and ask your accountant how to record it. See tax and VAT settings.
How it works
Menuthere pulls your name, address and photos from your Google listing. Set the currency to DKK and the timezone to Copenhagen.
Upload a photo or PDF and the AI reads in the dishes and prices. Sizes, add-ons and sold-out marking are built in. Moving from GloriaFood? Import that menu directly; it closes on 30 April 2027.
Collection, delivery and dine-in table orders, all from one menu.
Cash or pay on collection on Free. Your own Stripe account for card payments, MobilePay, Apple Pay and Google Pay on Lite and above.
On your Google Business Profile, Instagram bio, flyers and receipts. Print the free QR codes for the counter and tables.
Each order rings on the partner app until someone accepts it, or switch on auto-accept. Tickets print to your kitchen printer.
Danish rules
Allergen information. Under EU Regulation 1169/2011, as applied in Denmark by Fødevarestyrelsen, the 14 allergens must be declared for food that isn't prepacked. For distance selling (online and phone orders), the information must be available before the sale is completed and again when the food is delivered, at no extra cost. On Menuthere, tag the 14 allergens on each dish on every plan, including Free, and customers see them when they open the dish. Add a printed allergen sheet to delivery bags too: make one with the allergen chart maker.
Prices including VAT. Danish marketing law (markedsføringsloven, enforced by Forbrugerombudsmanden) requires that prices shown to consumers include VAT and all unavoidable charges, so the price a customer sees is the price they pay. Any service or delivery charge must be clear before they order.
Receipts and the cash register. Danish bookkeeping law (bogføringsloven) requires you to keep proper records of sales, and in practice a compliant cash register (kasseapparat) or point-of-sale system that issues receipts. Online orders paid by card leave a clean electronic trail; keep your Stripe and order records for your accounts.
No card surcharges. Under the EU payment services rules (PSD2), businesses can't add a surcharge for paying by consumer debit or credit card. Build card costs into your prices rather than adding a fee at checkout.
Card payments
Menuthere never touches your money. Stripe charges its own fee, with no setup or monthly fee on standard pricing, and Menuthere adds nothing on top. Currency conversion adds 2%, and a dispute costs 200 kr. Stripe also supports MobilePay, the dominant wallet in Denmark, so customers can pay the way they already do.
| Card type | Stripe Denmark rate | Per 250 kr order | 300 orders a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard EEA cards | 1.5% + 1.80 kr | 5.55 kr | 1,665.00 kr |
| Premium EEA cards | 2.8% + 1.80 kr | 8.80 kr | 2,640.00 kr |
| UK cards | 2.5% + 1.80 kr | 8.05 kr | 2,415.00 kr |
| International cards | 3.15% + 1.80 kr | 9.68 kr | 2,902.50 kr |
Most Danish customers pay with Danish-issued, standard EEA cards or with MobilePay. Turn MobilePay, Apple Pay and Google Pay on in your Stripe dashboard. See online payments and checkout and payments.
