For Swedish restaurants and takeaways

Online ordering system for restaurants and takeaways in Sweden

An online ordering system lets customers order and pay on your own website, so you keep the order and the customer. Menuthere gives restaurants, takeaways and cafés in Sweden one menu for collection, delivery and table orders, with prices in Swedish krona and 0% commission on every plan.

Free plan: 50 orders a month and 0% commission. Paid plans from US$17 a month. Find your restaurant on Google to start.

What it does

What an online ordering system does for a Swedish restaurant

It has two halves. The customer side is a mobile-friendly menu on your own link or domain: customers pick dishes, sizes and extras, choose collection or delivery, and pay by card or on collection. The kitchen side is where orders land, on a dashboard, a phone app and a kitchen printer, so staff can accept, cook and mark the order ready.

The difference from Uber Eats, Wolt or foodora is who owns the customer. On an app, the platform keeps the relationship and takes a share of every order, plus 25% moms (VAT) on that share. On your own system, the customer orders from you and you see their name and number. Most Swedish owners keep the apps for new customers and use their own page for regulars.

  • 0% commission on every plan. Card payments go to your own Stripe account.
  • Krona prices with Sweden's moms rates set per dish: 12% on restaurant and takeaway food, 25% on alcohol and some drinks.
  • Collection, delivery and table orders from one menu.

What the apps charge

What Uber Eats, Wolt and foodora charge in Sweden

Published or reported rates, checked in September 2026. Uber Eats adds 25% moms to its fee; Wolt and foodora set each rate in your contract. We found no legal cap on delivery-app commission in Sweden.

Delivery-app commission in Sweden by platform

Uber Eats30% (33% on Uber One orders)16% delivery / 16% pickup (13% delivery on Uber One)3,500 kr activation fee, once
WoltNot published. Reported at about 25–35%Reduced rate on pickup; not publishedDepends on your agreement
foodoraNot published. Reported at about 25–35%Not publishedDepends on your contract

Uber Eats works out its percentage on the item price including VAT, and its Swedish terms add 25% moms on top of the fee. Wolt and foodora don't publish their commission; Swedish restaurant-software guides put both at roughly 25–35% of the order. Full breakdowns: Uber Eats commission in Sweden, Wolt commission in Sweden and foodora commission in Sweden.

Worked example

300 orders a month at 300 kr

A Stockholm restaurant does 300 orders a month at an average of 300 kr: 90,000 kr in sales. Here is what each channel costs in a month and a year. Moms on the Uber Eats fee is worked out at 25%.

Monthly and yearly cost of 90,000 kr of orders by channel
ChannelFeeMoms on fee (25%)Total a monthA year
Uber Eats delivers (30%)27,000 kr6,750 kr33,750 kr405,000 kr
Uber Eats, you deliver (16%)14,400 kr3,600 kr18,000 kr216,000 kr
Wolt / foodora (about 30%)about 27,000 krset in your contractabout 27,000 krabout 324,000 kr
Your own system (Menuthere Lite + Stripe EEA cards)US$17 plan + about 1,890 kr card feesNo commission, so no moms on commissionabout 1,890 kr + US$17about 22,680 kr + US$204 (or US$170 on yearly billing)

Stripe's standard rate for EEA cards in Sweden is 1.5% + 1.80 kr, so a 300 kr order costs about 6.30 kr. If you're registered for moms you can usually reclaim the VAT on app fees, but the commission itself is gone.

Swedish moms

Set Sweden's moms rates dish by dish

Skatteverket sets a standard moms rate of 25%, a reduced 12% rate on food and on restaurant and catering services, and 6% on a few items. Restaurant and takeaway food is 12%, but alcohol and some drinks stay at 25%, and Menuthere's own subscription fee carries 25%. Menuthere lets each dish carry its own rate, so one bill can mix them.

1 × beer (alcohol)65 kr25%13.00 kr

Total358 kr44.39 kr

In Menuthere, set the store rate to 12%, mark dishes Tax Inclusive and give alcohol and standard-rated drinks a 25% rate. Menuthere doesn't add VAT to the delivery fee line, so set your delivery fee as a moms-inclusive amount and ask your accountant how to record it. A meal deal that mixes food and alcohol at one price has to be split between the two rates. See tax and VAT settings.

How it works

How Menuthere's online ordering system works

  1. 1

    Find your business on Google

Menuthere pulls your name, address and photos from your Google listing. Set the currency to SEK and the timezone to Stockholm.

  2. 2

    Import your menu

Upload a photo or PDF and the AI reads in the dishes and prices. Sizes, add-ons and sold-out marking are built in. Moving from GloriaFood? Import that menu directly; it closes on 30 April 2027.

  3. 3

    Choose order types

Collection, delivery and dine-in table orders, all from one menu.

  4. 4

    Set up payments

Cash or pay on collection on Free. Your own Stripe account for card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay on Lite and above.

  5. 5

    Share your link

On your Google Business Profile, Instagram bio, flyers and receipts. Print the free QR codes for the counter and tables.

  6. 6

    Take orders

Each order rings on the partner app until someone accepts it, or switch on auto-accept. Tickets print to your kitchen printer.

Swedish rules

Swedish rules your online menu has to follow

Allergen information. Under EU Regulation 1169/2011, as applied in Sweden by Livsmedelsverket (the National Food Agency), the 14 allergens must be declared for food that isn't prepacked. For distance selling — online and phone orders — the information has to be available to the customer before the purchase is completed, at no extra cost, and again when the food is delivered. On Menuthere, tag the 14 allergens on each dish on every plan, including Free, so the written information is on the menu before the order. Add a printed allergen sheet to delivery bags with the allergen chart maker.

Prices including moms. Swedish price-marking rules require prices shown to consumers to include VAT (moms) and to be clear and correct. Any service, packaging or delivery charge should be stated alongside the price so the customer sees the full amount before ordering.

Receipts and the cash register. Swedish law requires most businesses selling against cash or card to use an approved cash register (kassaregister) and to offer the customer a receipt for every sale. Keep your point-of-sale and bookkeeping in line with Skatteverket's rules; Menuthere's order records sit alongside, not instead of, your kassaregister.

No card surcharges. Under the EU payment services rules (PSD2), businesses in Sweden can't add a surcharge for paying by consumer debit or credit card. Build card costs into your prices.

  • Allergens available before the order and at delivery
  • Prices in krona, moms included
  • Approved cash register (kassaregister) and a receipt for every sale
  • No card surcharges

Card payments

Taking card payments with Stripe in Sweden

Menuthere never touches your money. Stripe is available in Sweden and charges its own fee in krona, with no setup or monthly fee on standard pricing, and Menuthere adds nothing on top. Currency conversion adds 2%, and a dispute costs 100 kr. Stripe gives you card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay; it does not offer Swish as an integrated gateway here.

Questions owners ask

Answered, plainly.

It depends on your size and how long a contract you'll sign. For most independents, look for 0% commission, no long contract, card payments into your own account and written allergen information on the menu. Menuthere ticks those boxes and has a free plan. Swedish suites such as Gastrogate suit restaurants that want POS and ordering from one supplier, usually on a quoted contract.

From free to a quoted monthly fee per site, and delivery apps also take a share of every order. Menuthere is free for 50 orders a month and US$17 a month (roughly 180 kr) for unlimited orders. Stripe charges 1.5% + 1.80 kr per standard EEA card on top.

Restaurant and catering services, including takeaway food, are at the reduced 12% moms rate. Alcohol and some drinks stay at the standard 25% rate, and the standard rate also applies to app and software fees. Menuthere lets you set a different rate on each dish.

Yes. In Sweden the 14 allergens must be declared for food that isn't prepacked. For online and phone orders the information must be available to the customer before the purchase is completed and again at delivery. Menuthere lets you tag the 14 allergens on each dish on every plan.

Connect your own Stripe account on Lite and above to take cards; Stripe is available in Sweden and supports Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Stripe does not offer Swish as an integrated gateway here, so Menuthere takes card payments rather than Swish. On Free, customers pay cash or at pickup.

No. Under the EU payment services rules (PSD2), you can't add a surcharge for paying by consumer debit or credit card. Build card costs into your prices.

Not with Menuthere. It takes 0% on every plan. Stripe charges its normal card fee.

Yes. Many owners keep the apps for new customers and use Menuthere for direct orders. Menuthere doesn't pull app orders into one screen.
