Pizza delivery software for shops with their own drivers
Updated October 19, 2026
Pizza delivery software is what runs the part after the order: who takes it, where they are, and when the customer can expect it. Menuthere gives a pizza shop its own ordering page and, on the Pro plan (US$39 a month), a delivery set-up for your own drivers. Each driver signs in to the Menuthere delivery app on their phone. You assign an order in one tap, the driver gets a push notification with the drop address, and the customer watches them on a live map with a Call button. Reports show each driver's deliveries, order value, delivery charges and distance for the period you pick. You pay 0% commission on every order.
In short
- Driver app: drivers sign in with the phone number and password you set. No driver can reset their own password, so access stays yours.
- One-tap dispatch: online drivers are listed first; assigning an order marks it dispatched.
- Live tracking for customers: name, arrival estimate, live map and a Call button, with no app to download.
- Driver reports: orders, order value, delivery charges and distance per driver, for any period.
- Short on drivers? Uber couriers on your own Uber Direct account can take over, outside India.
This page is about the delivery side. For building the pizza menu itself (sizes, crusts, toppings, deals) and setting delivery fees and zones, see online ordering for pizza.
Set up your drivers
- Switch on drivers. In Settings → Ordering → Delivery boy settings, turn on Use delivery boys.
- Add each driver. Press Add delivery boy, enter their name, phone and a password (or press Suggest one), then Create rider. Their phone number is their username.
- Get the app on their phone. Press Download delivery boy app for the App Store and Google Play links and QR codes, or the driver searches for "Menuthere Delivery App".
- Share the login once. Give each driver their phone number and password. To change a password later, open Edit rider.
- Assign the first order. On an order, press Assign rider and pick a driver. They get a push notification titled New Delivery Assignment with the order number and drop address.
A Friday night of dispatch
Here is how a busy evening runs. The times are an example; the steps are what Menuthere does.
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 6:00 pm | Three drivers sign in. Each shows Online now with a green dot on your roster; their location is shared while they're online. |
| 6:40 pm | Two orders for the same street come in. You assign both to one driver from the Orders screen. Both orders move to dispatched. |
| 6:42 pm | Each customer's order page switches to On the way: the driver's name, an arrival estimate, a live map of the driver, your shop and their address, and a Call button. |
| 7:15 pm | A driver goes home. You switch their Taking orders toggle off, so no more orders can be assigned to them, without deleting the account. |
| 8:30 pm | No driver is active and an order is waiting. Dispatch without a rider lets it go out, for example with a staff member. |
| 11:00 pm | You open driver analytics to see tonight's orders, order value, delivery charges and distance per driver. |
The driver marks each order Delivered in the app. The order moves to completed and the customer gets an Order Delivered notification. You can follow your own drivers too: an order carried by your driver shows a live map on your order screen.
Driver reports, and a worked driver-pay example
Many shops pay drivers per delivery plus distance. The driver analytics in Menuthere give you the numbers; the pay rate is yours. Choose the period and which orders count, then press Show deliveries for any driver to see each order.
Example, with your own rates (these are not Menuthere figures):
| Driver | Deliveries (from report) | Distance (from report) | Pay at $3.00 per delivery + $0.25 per km |
|---|---|---|---|
| Driver A | 22 | 66 km | 22 × $3.00 + 66 × $0.25 = $82.50 |
| Driver B | 15 | 52 km | 15 × $3.00 + 52 × $0.25 = $58.00 |
The same report shows the delivery charges customers paid on those orders, so you can see whether your delivery fee covers what you pay drivers. If far drops lose money, switch on Double the delivery charge, which doubles the charge your own pricing produces to pay for the ride back, on every plan (see should I charge customers for the rider's return trip). The free delivery fee calculator helps set the fee.
What your customer sees
- No app to install. Tracking is on the order page they reach from their confirmation. Read more in can customers track my own rider live without an app.
- A green Live tag shows how recently the driver's position updated. Before the driver shares a location, the card says Waiting for rider's location.
- A Call button phones the driver, so "where's my pizza?" calls don't tie up your shop line.
- Order updates on WhatsApp are optional on Pro: an Order dispatched message with driver details and a Track Order button, sent from your own number. Meta charges per message on your WhatsApp Business account.
When you don't have enough drivers
Two options sit beside your own drivers:
| Option | How it works | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Uber Direct (outside India) | Connect your own Uber Direct account. Checkout shows Uber's live delivery fee, a courier is booked when the order is accepted, when food is ready, or only when you tap Book, and the order updates itself as the courier picks up and delivers. Uber bills your Uber Direct account. You can switch it off while keeping your keys. | Every plan |
| Customer's own courier | Checkout offers pickup, and customers book their own courier with the pickup and drop details shown to copy. You charge no delivery. | Every plan |

What it costs next to a delivery app
Menuthere Pro is US$39 a month, with 0% commission and a 7-day free trial (a card is needed to start it; nothing is charged until it ends). Card payments go to your own Stripe account, with Stripe's fees. A delivery marketplace takes a percentage of every order instead; check the current rates for DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub in the US. Looking at pizza-specific platforms? See our page on Slice.
Want your pizza shop in the App Store and Google Play under its own name? That's the pizza ordering app on the Branded App plan, with everything in Pro, drivers included.
Frequently asked questions
What is pizza delivery software?
It runs the delivery side of a pizza shop: assigning orders to drivers, a driver app, tracking for customers and reports on each driver. Menuthere includes it on the Pro plan alongside your own ordering page, with 0% commission.
Do my drivers need a special app?
Yes. Drivers install the Menuthere delivery app on their phone and sign in with the phone number and password you set for them.
Can customers track their pizza driver live?
Yes. Once an order is dispatched with your driver, the customer's order page shows the driver's name, an arrival estimate, a live map and a Call button. No app download is needed.
How do I pay drivers per delivery or per kilometer?
Driver analytics show each driver's deliveries, order value, delivery charges and distance for the period you choose. Apply your own pay rate to those figures.
Can I use Uber couriers when I'm short of drivers?
Outside India, yes. Connect your own Uber Direct account and Uber couriers deliver your orders, with Uber's live fee shown at checkout and billed to your Uber Direct account.
Which plan includes my own drivers?
Your own drivers with live tracking are on the Pro plan at US$39 a month. Delivery itself, delivery fees and Uber Direct work on every plan.
