Did DoorDash's July 2026 fee change affect restaurants?
Updated 6 October 2026
Not through your commission. DoorDash's 23 July 2026 change is to what customers pay: a fixed Delivery Fee per restaurant and a distance-based Service Fee. The release says merchant commission is unchanged.
- The Delivery Fee is fixed per merchant. The Service Fee varies with distance and order size.
- A “Farther Away” label is part of the model. Rollout began on 23 July 2026 across most of the US.
- At first it excludes California, Chicago, Colorado, DC, Massachusetts, Minnesota, NYC, Puerto Rico and Seattle.
- DoorDash's release covers consumer fees only. See its published plan rates in DoorDash commission in the USA.
