The 10 best online ordering systems for restaurants in Australia.
Restaurants in Australia take orders on their own websites, apps and tables through local and regional systems such as Lightspeed Restaurant, Square Online and Redcat. Of the 9 systems compared here besides Menuthere, 2 say they take no commission on orders and 3 have a free plan; the rest charge a monthly fee or quote per restaurant.
Menuthere publishes this list and makes one of the systems on it (number 3). Every figure comes from the companies' own pages, dated and listed on each system's page. How we ranked them is at the foot of the page.

Online ordering systems for restaurants in Australia, compared
Not published for Nomni. Nomni calls Magic App a "0% commission" direct ordering channel. The legacy Abacus online ordering page, still live, advertises $0 setup and $0 monthly fee for online ordering, but says "a small transaction fee applies" and Abacus POS subscription fees still apply. No rate is given.
Varies per venue (agreed with me&u); the Australian help centre says at most 4.5% per order, the same for dine-in, pickup and delivery orders
Not published. The Terms of Trade allow a per-transaction Service Fee based on the venue's monthly GMV, with a monthly Minimum Commitment Fee as the floor; whether a venue pays it, and at what rate, is set in its Service Agreement (Terms of Trade 11.2).
Not published. The pricing page lists subscription fees only and shows no per-order commission.
Not clearly published. The online-ordering FAQ says there is 'no commission on your own orders' and the POS FAQ says 'no commission on orders', but the same online-ordering page promises 'lower commission fees', and the retailer terms list transaction fees set in each order form. In October 2025 RTÉ reported that Foodhub charges a fixed weekly fee rather than a percentage of the order value.
A per-order platform fee under the merchant terms ("Platform Fees in accordance with the pricing plan selected"). The current pricing page gives no rate, only that higher order volume brings lower commission. Archived copies of the pricing page (September 2022 and May 2024) listed 1.8% per order. The terms also allow "penalty commission rates" if the venue's Stripe account is not connected, verified and active, or subscription payments are outstanding.
Contract
Not stated on the US or Australian pricing pages; the Norwegian price list says its price applies to a 12-month contract period
No locked-in contract; cancel or switch plans anytime (US pricing page and General Terms). Outside the US, paid Square Online plans are priced per month billed annually, with a different price if paid monthly, and plans can be switched at any time.
Month to month; 7-day free trial on Lite and Pro
Not published.
Not published. Nomni Pay says there is no lock-in to one card processor ("Switch providers anytime", "No vendor lock-in, no penalties"). The pricing and product pages give no contract length or cancellation terms.
Current me&u venue terms are not published. The archived Mr Yum AU venue terms (last updated 1 November 2023) ran until terminated, let either side end them with 30 days' written notice, and charged a monthly Minimum Commitment Fee when a venue's monthly sales fell below its Minimum Sales Volume.
24-month fixed initial term, unless the Service Agreement says otherwise. It renews automatically for another term of the same length unless the venue gives written notice at least 28 days before expiry. Charges can rise by up to 10% at each renewal. A venue that ends the agreement early still owes the monthly Minimum Commitment Fee and/or Subscription Fee for the rest of the term (Terms of Trade 2.1–2.3, 24.4). Cancellation is arranged through the venue's Customer Success Manager or support team.
Annual or monthly plans (annual billing is cheaper)
Rolls over every 12 months after a first period. Clause 5 of the website terms dated 27 March 2026 sets that period at 8 weeks (clause 6.12 of the same terms calls it four months); the retailer terms PDF sets it at 4 months. To cancel under the website terms, you give 30 days' written notice ending on the last day of the period, return the equipment and pay any balance (the retailer terms PDF asks for 30 business days' notice). If you don't return equipment under two years old, the fee is £500.
Merchant terms (updated 11 February 2025): the subscription has an initial term of 1 year from when the plan is accepted and renews automatically for periods of equal duration unless notice is given; the agreement as a whole renews for successive 12-month periods if no termination notice is given, though either party may end it by written notice. No cancellation fees, but outstanding fees must be paid, and subscription fees are non-refundable. The terms also make Bopple the venue's exclusive online ordering and payment provider unless agreed in writing.

Lightspeed Restaurant is a cloud POS for restaurants, bars and hotels, with its own online ordering and QR order-and-pay module called Order Anywhere. Online payments
Online payments go through Lightspeed Payments (card, Apple Pay; Twint in Switzerland; Bancontact, Payconiq and iDEAL in Belgium and the Netherlands) or Stripe; customers can also pay in person at pickup or after a table meal.
Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · POS · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Reservations
Online, QR table and in-house orders land in the same POS; Order Anywhere has pickup-and-delivery and table profiles, and customers can order ahead for a later date or time (Lightspeed help centre).
Delivery can use the restaurant's own staff with its own zones, fees and minimums, or Uber Direct couriers with 0% commission and only a per-delivery fee (Uber Direct in the UK, Germany, Canada and the US only).
Orders from Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes can be sent to the POS through Deliverect (an add-on), and Order with Google sends Google Search and Maps users to the Order Anywhere site.
Online ordering and order-and-pay at table are not in the 69 USD Starter plan; they need the 189 USD Essential plan or a paid add-on (A$59 a month in Australia).
Card processing rates are not published on the US pricing page ('Default' on Starter, 'Custom' on Essential and Premium).
Not self-serve: plans start from a quote request, and Order Anywhere is bought through an account manager or [email protected].
Restaurants and cafés already on Square POS in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, Japan, France or Spain that want a free, commission-free ordering page
Square Online is Square's ordering website and online store builder: a restaurant gets an ordering page (in the US called an online ordering profile) whose orders go straight into Square POS, the kitchen printer or Square KDS. It is for restaurants, cafés, bakeries and food trucks that use Square payments in the 8 countries Square serves. The Free plan has no monthly fee and no commission, only Square's card processing fee per order; paid plans (in the US, Square Plus from $49 a month per location) add QR table ordering, loyalty and email marketing, and in the US a lower online card rate.

Online payments
Square processes every online payment itself: credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Cash App Pay in the US; Square Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Afterpay in Australia and Canada; Square Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Clearpay in the UK. The restaurant needs a Square account.
Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · POS · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Reservations
Free plan with no monthly fee and no commission on direct orders; the restaurant pays only Square's card processing fee (Square online ordering page and plan pages).
Online orders arrive in Square POS and go to the kitchen printer or Square KDS, and menus, items and stock stay in sync between online and in-store sales (Square online ordering pages).
Pickup (including curbside), delivery by the restaurant's own staff with postal-code or radius zones and distance-based fees, or on-demand couriers (DoorDash or another courier Square picks in the US, DoorDash in Canada, Stuart in the UK); customers can schedule orders days ahead (Square help centre, Canada and UK pages).
Online payments go through Square at Square's rates; in the US the Free plan charges 3.3% + 30¢ per online card payment, against 2.9% + 30¢ on paid plans (Square pricing page).
QR table ordering, loyalty, email marketing and a custom domain need a paid plan: Square Plus at $49 a month per location in the US; in Australia QR ordering and pre-orders need Plus at A$36 a month, billed annually (Square pricing and plan pages).
Only available in the 8 countries Square serves (Square About page).

Multi-site QSR, fast-casual and franchise chains in Australia and the UK that want POS, branded ordering apps and loyalty from one vendor
Redcat is an Australian hospitality technology platform built around its Polygon POS, sold to multi-site QSR, fast-casual, café and franchise groups. Web and app orders can be paid by credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, gift card, loyalty points or pre-loaded loyalty cash. The online gateways named in Redcat's help centre are Redcat Pay (Australia, New Zealand and UK) and Tyro e-commerce. For in-store payments the POS connects to Adyen, Tyro, Windcave, Dojo, Stripe, Zeller, Linkly, PC-EFTPOS and Skyzer (payments integrations page); pay-at-table runs through the Tyro or Dojo integrations.
Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · POS · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Branded app · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations
One system for POS, web and app ordering, QR table ordering with open tabs, kiosks, drive-thru, kitchen screens and loyalty. Online and QR orders go straight into the Redcat POS and kitchen (online ordering and QR ordering pages).
Orders from Uber Eats, DoorDash, Deliveroo, Menulog (Just Eat), GrabFood and Hungry Panda can come straight into the POS, and Order with Google is supported. Its own delivery sends drivers from DoorDash Drive or Uber Direct at a fixed cost, and the Stellar option also lets venues use their own drivers (help centre, delivery and Stellar pages).
Built for chains. The Nando's case study says Redcat moved more than 230 Australian restaurants onto its POS in under four months, and its customers page features Boost Juice, Chatime, Concept Eight and San Churro. Redcat Pty Ltd publishes the branded ordering apps of chains such as Chatime Australia, Schnitz and YoChi (Nando's case study, customers page, App Store).
No published prices, per-order fees, card rates, setup fees or contract terms. Every product is sold through a demo and a quote.
Several features depend on other Redcat products. Online ordering in the branded mobile app requires Polygon loyalty. Future-dated orders work only for pickup and catering, and only at stores running Polygon POS (mobile apps page, Future Dated Ordering help article).
Redcat Pay, its own payment service, needs Polygon POS, is offered only in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, and does not handle pay-at-table, which goes through Tyro or Dojo instead (Redcat Pay overview, Redcat & Payments help articles). Training beyond the initial installation is charged 'at affordable rates', with no amount given (support page).
Cafés, quick-service chains and multi-venue groups in Australia and Southeast Asia that want POS, online and table ordering, loyalty and payments from one vendor on a quote
Nomni is a Melbourne-based hospitality platform that in May 2026 brought Abacus POS, OrderUp, Liven Loyalty, MagicApp Studio and Zeemart together under one brand. It pairs a POS with web, QR table, pickup, delivery and catering ordering, a branded web app (Magic App), loyalty, marketing and its own payments layer, and sells to cafés, quick-service chains and multi-venue groups through demos. Pricing is quote-only: the pricing page lists Starter, Essential, Pro and Enterprise plans with no prices.

Nomni Pay routes payments through the venue's choice of processor, such as Adyen, Tyro, ANZ Worldline, WPay or Stripe. It covers counter, table, kiosk, online, QR and phone payments, with cash, card, EFTPOS, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, WeChat, Zip and other BNPL, MOTO and venue currency. Guests using Magic App pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or earned rewards from one wallet. Payouts can be exported to Xero and MYOB.
Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · POS · Loyalty · Marketing tools · WhatsApp ordering or updates · Branded app · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Reservations
POS, KDS, kiosk and ordering run as one system. Web, QR table, pickup, delivery and catering orders all go into the POS and kitchen screens, and a menu written once is published to every channel, with up to 15 price levels (Digital Ordering and POS pages).
Uber Eats and DoorDash orders go straight into the POS and kitchen screens with no middleware such as Deliverect. Direct delivery orders can be sent to Uber Direct or DoorDash Drive drivers, and catering orders can also go out with the venue's own fleet (POS FAQ, OrderUp site, Catering page).
The venue chooses its card processor (Adyen, Tyro, ANZ Worldline, WPay, Stripe) with no lock-in. The POS and payments keep working offline, with a 4G backup (Payments and POS pages).
No published prices. All four plans on the pricing page (Starter, Essential, Pro, Enterprise) are quote-only: buyers fill in a form for a quote or book a demo call.
Online ordering may carry a per-transaction fee. The legacy Abacus online ordering page says "a small transaction fee applies" and Abacus POS subscription fees still apply, but gives no rate. Nomni does not publish its own ordering fees.
Card processing rates, contract length and cancellation terms are not published on nomni.ai's pricing and product pages. Nomni Pay only says "industry-leading rates" with blended or interchange-plus pricing.
Busy pubs, bars, food halls and full-service restaurants in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US that want guests to order and pay at the table, linked to their POS
me&u is an Australian order-and-pay platform for pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés and food halls: guests scan a QR code to order and pay from their phone at the table, and the same menu can take pickup and delivery orders. It also sells reservations with voice AI, a CRM with email and SMS marketing, loyalty and a staff upsell app, through its sales team, to venues in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US. Prices are quote-only: me&u takes a fee on each order that varies by venue (at most 4.5%, per its Australian help centre), and since 1 September 2026 guests in Australia also pay a me&u platform fee of A$0.20 to A$2.90 per order unless the venue covers it.

me&u collects the guest's payment itself as the venue's payment collection agent, through Stripe (Stripe Connect), and pays venues out T+2 (five payouts a week) in Australia/New Zealand, the UK and the US, minus its fees; T+1 payouts are available on request at extra cost in the UK and US. Guests can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, saved cards, gift cards and mixed payments (Order & Pay and Pay pages); the restaurants page also lists tabs, tipping and Tap to Pay on iPhone.
Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Multiple locations · Menu translation · Reservations
One menu handles QR order-and-pay at the table plus pickup and delivery, with order-ahead windows and limits per time slot; in Australia, delivery can use DoorDash Drive drivers at a flat A$8.50 (ex GST) up to 1 km plus A$1 per km up to 10 km, with no DoorDash account or setup fee (me&u help centre).
Connects to 70+ POS systems (115+ integrations in total, including Lightspeed, Square, Toast and Tevalis), with loyalty partners Como, Zen Global, Leat and Myne and open POS, loyalty and order-data APIs (me&u home and integrations pages, help centre).
A wider suite beyond ordering: reservations with voice AI, the Connect CRM with email and SMS marketing, loyalty, and the Crew staff upsell app, plus menu translation and dietary and allergen preferences (me&u home, Connect and Order & Pay pages).
No published pricing: venues must talk to sales for a quote, and me&u takes a share of every order (up to 4.5%, per its Australian help centre), so it is not commission-free.
Since 1 September 2026, guests in Australia pay a me&u platform fee of up to A$2.90 per order; venues cannot turn it off, only absorb it from their payout (me&u help centre).
Built around dine-in: its guest terms say items can be ordered only when dining in the venue or, "in some limited circumstances", for takeaway, and it has no POS of its own, so it runs on top of a POS integration or a direct-to-printer setup (me&u terms, help centre).
Australian and New Zealand venues on a supported POS (OrderMate, SwiftPOS, Lightspeed, Square and others) that want table ordering, pay-at-table and takeaway ordering from one managed provider
HungryHungry is a Melbourne-based ordering platform for cafés, restaurants, pubs, hotels and stadiums in Australia and New Zealand. It offers QR table ordering, a branded storefront for pickup and delivery, HungryPay pay-at-table, kiosks and marketing tools, all linked to the venue's POS. Prices are not published and are quoted after a demo; its Terms of Trade allow a subscription, per-transaction service fees based on monthly sales and a minimum monthly commitment, on a 24-month contract unless the venue's Service Agreement says otherwise.

Not published. The Terms of Trade allow a per-transaction Service Fee based on the venue's monthly GMV, with a monthly Minimum Commitment Fee as the floor; whether a venue pays it, and at what rate, is set in its Service Agreement (Terms of Trade 11.2).
Online payments
Stripe is HungryHungry's primary payments provider. Each venue signs up for Stripe Connect, the money goes to the venue's Stripe account, and payouts are daily or weekly (T+1 settlement as standard). HungryHungry says it does not hold funds. Customers can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay; the partners page also lists American Express, Afterpay, Visa and Mastercard. Stripe here does not support PayPal. Kiosks use a Stripe contactless terminal.
Includes: Own ordering website · QR table ordering · Pickup · Delivery orders · Your own drivers · Scheduled orders · Online payments · Loyalty · Marketing tools · Branded app · Delivery-app integration · Multiple locations · Menu translation
Every plan, including the entry Basic Bite plan, covers QR code and order-at-table ordering, delivery, pickup, order-ahead and collect-at-counter, with SMS order notifications and POS integration (plans page).
Works with many POS systems, including OrderMate, SwiftPOS, Square, Lightspeed, Micros Simphony, NCR Aloha, Revel, Clover and Doshii (partners page). With OrderMate, online orders show on the POS screen and print as if they had been rung up there (help centre FAQ).
Payments go through the venue's own Stripe Connect account with T+1 settlement as standard, and HungryHungry says it does not hold the funds. HungryPay lets a table split the bill evenly, by item or by amount, and add a tip (help centre, HungryPay page).
No published prices: all three plans are sold through a demo, and the Charges (subscription, per-transaction service fees, minimum commitment) are set in each venue's Service Agreement (plans page, Terms of Trade).
The standard contract is a 24-month fixed term that renews automatically for another 24 months unless the venue gives 28 days' written notice. Renewal prices can rise by up to 10%, and leaving early means paying the remaining minimum or subscription fees (Terms of Trade).
Fees can be charged per order: the Terms of Trade let HungryHungry bill per-transaction Service Fees based on monthly sales (with a Minimum Commitment Fee as the floor) and add a Platform Fee paid by the customer, with amounts set in each Service Agreement (Terms of Trade 10.5, 11.2).

The restaurant links an integrated payment gateway in the Merchant Portal. Gateways documented for the Branded Online Store include Eats365's own 365pay aggregator (Eats365 partners with Adyen for it), Global Payments and KPay in Japan. Cash on pickup and cash on delivery can also be allowed.

The Branded Online Store takes pickup, delivery, catering and QR dine-in orders plus reservations. Orders sync to the POS and kitchen display (Eats365 Knowledge Base).
Eats365 Biz collects orders from third-party delivery platforms, the Branded Online Store and the Eats365 Marketplace on one Android device (Eats365 Biz page).
The Branded Online Store has no published price: it is not on the pricing page and licences are bought through the sales team. Loyalty, reservations and gift cards are also 'Contact Us' (Eats365 pricing page, Eats365 Knowledge Base).
The online store only works when paired with an Eats365 POS, Biz or Biz Lite. Scan-to-Order (BYOD) and reservations each need a separate licence (Eats365 Knowledge Base).
Delivery on the online store is available only in some countries and regions (Eats365 Branded Online Store page).
UK and Irish takeaways that want a branded ordering site and app, EPOS, card machine and driver app from one supplier on a weekly rental
Foodhub for Business is a UK company that gives takeaways and restaurants a branded ordering website and app, plus EPOS, kiosks, card machines, a delivery driver app and a listing on its own Foodhub marketplace app. It sells mainly to takeaways in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada, through a sales call or demo. Prices are quote only: its UK terms charge a weekly rental and a one-off setup fee, on a contract that rolls over every 12 months after a short first period.

Customers pay online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Pay-by-link and QR payments are also available. The UK terms name My Pay Limited t/a Datman as the payment gateway that processes card transactions and pays out weekly. The integrations page also lists Adyen, Stripe, Square, Windcave, Epx, ValorPay and Dejavoo.

One supplier for the branded ordering website and iOS/Android apps, EPOS, kiosk, kitchen display, card machines and the Drive2Success driver app (Foodhub for Business product pages).
The branded app and site offer pre-orders, group orders, live order tracking, table booking, gift cards, coupons, loyalty, and push, email and SMS campaigns (Foodhub online ordering, mobile app and marketing pages).
Brings Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo orders into the Foodhub EPOS. Also connects to POS systems such as Square, Clover, Toast and Lightspeed (Foodhub integrations page).
No public prices: restaurants must ask for a quote. The UK terms charge a weekly rental by Direct Debit, a one-off setup fee and SMS costs, each set per agreement (Foodhub terms, 27 March 2026).
The contract rolls over every 12 months after the first period. Cancelling needs 30 days' notice timed to the end of the period, return of equipment and a cleared balance (Foodhub terms, clauses 5 and 14).
The terms say the rights in the system, including domain names and database content, belong to Foodhub, and the restaurant's access ends on termination (Foodhub terms, clauses 11.4 and 14.7.2).
Cafés and multi-site food brands in Australia and New Zealand that want their own ordering site or branded app linked to Lightspeed Kounta or Square POS
Bopple is an Australian online ordering platform for cafés, restaurants and multi-site food brands, with a free digital menu and store page and a paid plan that adds pickup, delivery, scheduled and QR table ordering, loyalty and discount codes. Sign-up is self-serve: Online ordering costs A$49 or NZ$49 a month (US$29), ex tax, and branded web and iOS/Android apps are paid add-ons. Bopple also takes a platform fee on each order, and Stripe card fees go on top.

Online payments
Customers pay online through Stripe accounts created via Bopple (Stripe Payments Australia under the merchant terms): card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link by Stripe, with guest checkout. Stripe pays out daily (Monday to Friday) on a T+2 schedule in Australia and New Zealand; other countries follow Stripe's local payout speed.

Online ordering is not in the free plan, and online payments must run through Stripe via Bopple. A 1.45% fee applies when Bopple has to hold payments because the venue's Stripe account is not connected or verified (pricing and Stripe fees pages).
