What it is
The Order online button on a Google Business Profile points at an ordering link you choose. Make that your own Menuthere link, and the diners who find you on Google order from you, not from a marketplace.
When someone searches your name or finds you on Maps, the button shows on your profile. In some countries it reads "Order online", in others "Place an order".
Point the button at your own Menuthere link and Menuthere takes 0% on the order. Google's help pages show no fee for ordering links either.
Diners order from your menu, and the order lands in your dashboard and the partner app. You keep the customer and the data.
How to add it
You set this in your Google Business Profile. The Google labels below are the real ones.
Sign up and build your menu, and your store gets its own ordering link, like menuthere.com/your-name. Copy it from the dashboard's Share screen.
On Search, open your Business Profile. On Maps, choose Edit profile. You manage the profile you own, not a listing you don't.
Choose Food ordering or Pickup and delivery, then Add link. Paste your Menuthere ordering link and save.
Search your restaurant on another phone, tap the Order online button, and place a test order. Find it in your dashboard and the partner app.
Why your own link
Google lets ordering providers add their links to your profile too. If a marketplace's link shows, diners may order through it and you pay its commission. Adding your own Menuthere link gives diners a direct way to order from you.
You can add more than one ordering link, and you can set which one shows first, so your own 0% link is the one diners see. Google's help pages describe this under managing your links.
The order from your link lands in your dashboard and the partner app, which rings until you accept it. You keep the customer's details and pay no commission to Menuthere.
Honest fit
Any restaurant, café, bakery or cloud kitchen with a Google Business Profile that wants diners who find it on Search and Maps to order directly, at 0% commission, and arrive in one dashboard.
This is not getting discovered by new diners for the first time — a Google listing shows people who already search for you or your area. For pure discovery, marketplaces still help; use both and keep your direct link first.
Questions owners ask
Point your Order online button at your own Menuthere link and keep every customer who finds you on Google. The Free plan is $0 with 0% commission.
