For Lithuanian restaurants and takeaways

Online ordering system for restaurants in Lithuania

An online ordering system lets customers order and pay on your own website, so you keep the order and the customer. Menuthere gives restaurants, cafés and takeaways in Lithuania one menu for collection, delivery and table orders, with prices in euro and 0% commission on every plan, instead of paying Wolt or Bolt Food roughly 20–30% of each order. Owners searching "maisto užsakymo sistema restoranui" can order straight from you.

Free plan: 50 orders a month and 0% commission. Paid plans from US$17 a month, with a 14-day free trial. Find your restaurant on Google to start.

What it does

What an online ordering system does for a Lithuanian restaurant

It has two halves. The customer side is a mobile-friendly menu on your own link or domain: customers pick dishes, sizes and extras, choose collection or delivery, and pay by card or on collection. The kitchen side is where orders land, on a dashboard, a phone app and a kitchen printer, so staff can accept, cook and mark the order ready.

The difference from Wolt or Bolt Food is who owns the customer. On an app, the platform keeps the relationship and takes a share of every order, plus 21% VAT on that share. On your own system, the customer orders from you and you see their name and number. Most Lithuanian owners keep the apps for new customers and use their own page for regulars.

  • 0% commission on every plan. Card payments go to your own Stripe account.
  • Euro prices with Lithuania's VAT (PVM) set per dish, standard rate 21%.
  • Collection, delivery and table orders from one menu.

What the apps charge

What Wolt and Bolt Food charge in Lithuania

Neither Wolt nor Bolt Food publishes its commission in Lithuania; each restaurant's rate is set in its agreement. The figures below are approximate, from restaurant owners quoted by the Lithuanian press and Wolt's own 2021 statement. Wolt adds 21% VAT (PVM) to its commission.

Delivery-app commission in Lithuania by platform
PlatformReported commissionVATBasis
WoltAbout 20–30% (approximate)21% on the commissionWolt's 2021 blog (20–25% average); tv3.lt 2026 (about 30%)
Bolt FoodAbout 20–33% (approximate)Not published15min 2026 (20% contract, later 33%); tv3.lt 2026 (about 30%)

A restaurant owner told tv3.lt that being visible through Wolt+ raises the commission by about another 10–12%. A kebab shop told 15min its Bolt Food rate started at 20% and was raised to 33% about six months later. Treat these as approximate and check your own agreement. Full breakdowns: Wolt commission in Lithuania and Bolt Food commission in Lithuania.

Worked example

300 orders a month at €20

A restaurant does 300 orders a month at an average of €20: €6,000 in sales. Here is what each channel costs in a month and a year. VAT on the app fee is worked out at 21%, and commission is taken at 25% (the middle of the 20–30% reported).

Monthly and yearly cost of €6,000 of orders by channel
ChannelFeeVAT on fee (21%)Total a monthA year
Wolt (~25%)€1,500€315€1,815€21,780
Bolt Food (~25%)€1,500€315€1,815€21,780
Your own system (Menuthere Lite + Stripe EEA cards)US$17 plan + €135 card feesNo commission, so no VAT on commissionabout €135 + US$17about €1,620 + US$204 (or US$170 on yearly billing)

Stripe's standard rate for EEA cards is 1.5% + €0.25, so a €20 order costs €0.55 and 300 orders cost about €135 a month. If you're VAT-registered you can usually reclaim the VAT on app fees, but the commission itself is gone. Enter the rate in your own Wolt or Bolt Food agreement to work out your real figure.

If only 100 of those orders move to your own page, at 25% you keep about €500 a month. Model your own case with the delivery fee calculator.

Lithuanian VAT (PVM)

Set Lithuania's VAT rates dish by dish

Lithuania's standard VAT rate (PVM) is 21%, and restaurant, catering and most prepared food is standard-rated. A reduced rate applies to a few specific items, so confirm each one with your accountant. The app fees themselves are at 21%. Menuthere lets each dish carry its own rate, so one bill can mix them.

Lithuanian VAT on a delivery order of €24.20, with prices including VAT
LinePrice (VAT included)VAT rateVAT inside the price
Cepelinai plate€12.0021%€2.08
Kibinai (2)€6.0021%€1.04
2 × soft drink€6.2021%€1.08
Delivery fee€0.00—€0.00
Total€24.20€4.20

In Menuthere, set the store rate to 21%, mark dishes Tax Inclusive, and give any reduced-rate item its own rate. Menuthere doesn't add VAT to the delivery fee line, so set your delivery fee as a VAT-inclusive amount and ask your accountant how to record it. See tax and VAT settings.

How it works

How Menuthere's online ordering system works

  1. 1

    Find your business on Google

Menuthere pulls your name, address and photos from your Google listing. Set the currency to EUR and the timezone to Vilnius.

  2. 2

    Import your menu

Upload a photo or PDF and the AI reads in the dishes and prices. Sizes, add-ons and sold-out marking are built in. Moving from GloriaFood? Import that menu directly; it closes on 30 April 2027.

  3. 3

    Choose order types

Collection, delivery and dine-in table orders, all from one menu.

  4. 4

    Set up payments

Cash or pay on collection on Free. Your own Stripe account for card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay on Lite and above.

  5. 5

    Share your link

On your Google Business Profile, Instagram bio, flyers and receipts. Print the free QR codes for the counter and tables.

  6. 6

    Take orders

Each order rings on the partner app until someone accepts it, or switch on auto-accept. Tickets print to your kitchen printer.

Lithuanian rules

Lithuanian rules your online menu has to follow

Allergen information. Under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 on food information to consumers, the 14 major allergens must be declared. For food that isn't prepacked, including dishes sold for delivery or takeaway, the information must be available to the customer before they buy. On Menuthere, tag the 14 allergens on each dish on every plan, including Free, so customers see them before the order is placed.

Prices and charges. Lithuanian consumer rules require prices shown to customers to be clear and to include VAT. Any cover, service or minimum charge must be stated with the prices. Menuthere shows prices in euro with VAT included, and any extra charge as its own line at checkout.

The receipt. Businesses in Lithuania must issue a cash-register receipt and report sales to the tax authority (VMI), including through the i.MAS system. Menuthere is your ordering channel, not your fiscal recorder, so keep issuing your receipts through your registered cash register and reconcile online orders with them.

No card surcharges. Under the EU payment services rules (PSD2), businesses in Lithuania can't add a surcharge for paying by standard consumer debit or credit card. Build card costs into your prices.

  • Allergen information before the order (Reg EU 1169/2011)
  • Prices in euro, VAT included, with any service or cover charge shown
  • Issue cash-register receipts and report to VMI (i.MAS)
  • No card surcharges (PSD2)

Card payments

Taking card payments with Stripe in Lithuania

Stripe is available in Lithuania. Menuthere never touches your money: Stripe charges its own fee, with no setup or monthly fee on standard pricing, and Menuthere adds nothing on top. Card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay go straight to your own Stripe account.

Stripe Lithuania card fees on a €20 order and on 300 orders a month
Card typeStripe Lithuania ratePer €20 order300 orders a month
Standard EEA cards1.5% + €0.25€0.55€165.00
Premium EEA cards1.9% + €0.25€0.63€189.00
UK cards2.5% + €0.25€0.75€225.00
International cards3.25% + €0.25€0.90€270.00

Most Lithuanian customers pay with Lithuanian-issued, standard EEA cards. Apple Pay and Google Pay work once you switch them on in Stripe. Check the current rates on Stripe's Lithuania pricing page before you rely on them.

Questions owners ask

Answered, plainly.

It depends on your size and how long a contract you'll sign. For most independents, look for 0% commission, no long contract, card payments into your own account and allergen information on the menu. Menuthere ticks those boxes and has a free plan with 50 orders a month.

Neither publishes its commission; each rate is set in your agreement. Wolt said in 2021 its average Lithuanian rate was 20–25%, and owners told the press in 2026 that both are now about 30%; a kebab shop said its Bolt Food rate rose from 20% to 33%. Wolt adds 21% VAT on top. Ask for the rate, with and without VAT, before you sign.

The standard VAT rate (PVM) in Lithuania is 21%, and restaurant, catering and most prepared food is standard-rated. A reduced rate applies to a few specific items, so confirm each with your accountant and set the rate per dish in Menuthere.

Yes. Under Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, the 14 major allergens must be declared, and for food that isn't prepacked the information must be available before the customer buys. Menuthere lets you tag the 14 allergens on each dish on every plan, so they show before the order is placed.

Yes. Stripe is available in Lithuania, so card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay go straight to your own Stripe account. Stripe's standard rate for EEA cards is 1.5% + €0.25, and under the EU payment services rules (PSD2) you can't add a surcharge for standard consumer cards, so build card costs into your prices.

Yes. Menuthere's Free plan is US$0 with 50 orders a month and 0% commission. For unlimited orders, your own domain and Stripe card payments, Lite is US$17 a month with a 14-day free trial.

Yes. Many owners keep the apps for new customers and use Menuthere for direct orders. Menuthere doesn't pull app orders into one screen; you run each channel separately.
