Make a bill in Menuthere POS

Tap dishes (or type to search, or scan a barcode) to fill the bill on the right. Pick Dine-in, Takeaway or Delivery, choose how the customer paid, and press Place order & print. Tap a line on the bill for a note, a discount on that dish, or to remove it.

Add dishes

  • Tap a dish. Categories are down the side; All shows everything. A tile shows the price, a veg or non-veg mark, and how many are already on the bill.
  • Search. Start typing anywhere on the Billing screen, or press F2. Every word you type must be in the dish's name. Enter adds the first result; Esc clears the search.
  • Dish code or barcode. Type a dish's code exactly and press Enter. A barcode scanner does the same. A number no dish has shows No dish has the code and clears for the next scan.
  • Sizes and add-ons. A dish with a choice opens a picker: the Size, each add-on group's rule (for example Required · pick 1), a Note for the kitchen (optional) and the quantity. Press Add.
  • Sold out. With dish counts on, a tile shows N left or Sold out. See Stock in the POS.

Work on the bill

  • Use − and + for the quantity, and × to remove a line.
  • Tap a line for Add note (up to 120 characters, printed on the KOT), Discount this item and Remove.
  • Order note adds a note to the whole KOT, for example *Serve starters first*.
  • Charge adds an Extra charge to this bill only, such as packing. Store charges set in the dashboard appear in Bill details; tap one to take it off or add it.
  • Custom item adds a dish that isn't on the menu, for this bill only: an Item name and a Price.
  • Bill details shows the subtotal, charges, discount, tax and round-off. Total is under it.
Tax on a custom itemWhen your store charges tax, a custom item has Price includes GST (18%) (your own tax name and rate). It starts ticked when most of your menu's prices include tax. Untick it to add the tax on top.

Order type, table and customer

  • Dine-in shows Choose table: tap a table or type its number. See Tables and floor plan.
  • Takeaway and Delivery keep the type for the next bill too.
  • Type the Name (optional) and Phone (optional). Saved customers are suggested as you type, and a bill with a phone number saves its customer.
  • Delivery also asks a Delivery address. It needs the address or the phone.

Place the bill

Step 1: Pick the payment

Tap Cash (F5), Card (F6) or UPI (F7). India shows all three; other countries show Cash and Card, unless your dashboard picks others. See Take payment.

Step 2: Place it

Press Place order & print (F9) to save and print, or Place order (no print) (F8). Print KOT (F4) sends the order to the kitchen now and takes the payment later.

Step 3: Done

Bill placed shows with the bill number. With a phone number on the bill, Send bill on WhatsApp is offered.

What Place order & print prints is set in Settings › Printers: the KOT, the bill or both.

Questions

How do I give dishes a code or barcode?
In a free store, type it in the dish's Code / barcode box on the Menu screen. In a Menuthere store, dish codes come from your dashboard menu.
Is a custom item added to my menu?
No. It is on this bill only.
Where does the bill go after I place it?
It is saved on the device and printed at once. In a Menuthere store it is also sent to your dashboard. See How the POS works offline.
