Create a discount code
A discount code takes a percentage or a fixed amount off a bill. Customers type the code at checkout, or you can let it apply itself. You set the minimum order, the days it works and how many times it can be used.

Create the discount
Step 1: Start a new discount
Go to Promotions → Discounts and press New discount. Your discounts are listed under All, Active and Expired.
Step 2: Name it and write the code
Under The Discount, add a Name only you see, then a Code. Type your own, such as SAVE10, or press Generate. Choose the Type: % off or ₹ off, then the value. Quick buttons set common values.
Step 3: Say when it applies
Under When it applies, set a Minimum order value and, for a percentage, a Maximum discount amount. Choose the Order types, Applies to all items or selected items, the Days and whether it has an end date.
Step 4: Set limits, then create it
Under Limits & visibility, set Total uses and Per customer, and choose the switches. Press Create discount. Share the code with your customers.
The switches

| Auto-apply discount | Applies itself once the cart qualifies. No code needed. | The customer types the code at checkout. |
| List at checkout | Every customer sees it in the checkout offers list. | It still works for someone who has the code or qualifies for auto-apply. |
| Take it off the final total | Comes off the final bill, after taxes and charges. | Comes off the item prices only. |
| Show a banner on your store page | Shows the deal on your store page so people can see it without a code. | Hidden from the page. Only people you give the code to know it. |
