Message templates
A template is a WhatsApp message that Meta has approved in advance. It is the only kind of message that reaches a customer outside the 24-hour window. You write it once in Templates, send it for review, and use it in flows, broadcasts and the inbox.

Create a template
Step 1: Press New template
Open Sales channel → WhatsApp → Templates and press New template. If you have more than one number, pick the number first. Templates belong to one number.
Step 2: Fill in the message
Give it a Name such as order_status_update, a Language and a Category. Write the Body and use {{1}}, {{2}} for the parts that change. Add an example value for each, because Meta reviews with them.
Step 3: Add buttons if you want them
Under Buttons (optional, up to 3) add + Quick reply, + URL or + Phone. A URL button can be fixed or dynamic. A dynamic one ends in {{1}} and needs an example link.
Step 4: Submit for review
Press Submit for review. Meta reviews every template, usually within about 24 hours. The row shows In review, then Approved or Rejected. Sync from Meta refreshes the statuses.

| Authentication | One-time passcodes and login codes. |
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Approved | Ready to send. |
| In review | Waiting for Meta. Templates are not sent until approved. |
| Rejected, Disabled, Paused | Meta has refused or stopped it. Edit it and resubmit, or write a new one. |
