Add sizes to a dish
Step 1: Open the dish
Open Menu and press the pencil on the dish, or press Add Item for a new one. Under the basic details, press Add variant.
Step 2: Name each size and set its price
Type the Variant Name, for example "Half". Set its Base Price, and a Delivery Price if delivery costs more. Press Add variant again for each further size.
Step 3: Save
Press Save Changes. The dish's own Base Price box now reads "Variant prices are used", because each size carries its price.
| Where | What customers and staff see |
|---|---|
| Customer menu | The dish shows a "From" price in some layouts, and the customer picks one size before adding it. |
| Menu screen | A See variants button opens each size as a row with its own price and an on / off switch. |
| Orders | The size name is part of the line, for example "Chicken biryani (Half)". |
Good to knowA size left without a name is dropped when you save. To remove a size, press the bin beside its name. You can switch one size off without touching the dish. See Mark a dish, size or category out of stock.
Questions
Can customers pick more than one size?
No. Sizes are a pick-one choice. For extras that can be combined, use add-on groups.
How do I charge a different price on delivery for each size?
Set the Delivery Price on each variant. An empty one uses the size's base price.
Can I use sizes and add-ons on the same dish?
Yes. The customer picks a size first, then any add-on groups you set.
